You all are not gonna believe the day we’ve had round here! You see it started last night, with that other female lab stray that my Lady calls Little Mama. She’s the one I had that fight with a while back. Well, it seems she has turned up ‘in a family’ way too! We’ve been knowin’ it. Well, yesterday, she got in the back of the old metal building behind where Little Miss Mary had given birth to her pups and wallowed her out a spot in that hay. You guessed it! She was in labor…
That poor girl labored all night last night and all day today. My Lady finally had to go out there today and help her with somethin’. I tried to go back there, but was immediately kicked out and took back to the house. I just wanted to see what was goin’ on 🙁 I still don’t understand what was happenin’, but it sure sounded kinda serious for Little Mama. When Little Miss Mary had hers, she didn’t need no help?
All I know is somethin’ was wrong. Eventually though, late this afternoon, my Lady announced that there are 7 new baby pups out there. She says they are all coal black colored. My Lady looked awfully tired from it all. I can only imagine how tired Little Mama was, but she was alright! The only thing I was a thinkin’ was “here we go again!” We were down to two last pups to giveaway and now she says there are 7 more!! Say Whaaaat?! They must think that old shed is a birthin’ room?
Even those folks that came to take Little Coop home was like – y’all REALLY like dogs here don’t ya? Woof! Woof! When they came up, my Man was tryin’ to get the other two strays into the mancave and gettin’ all us big dogs into the house, but out of the way. The puppies were a cryin’ and jumpin’ at the baby gate – it probably looked, and sounded, worse than a dog kennel. Life around here really has gone to the dogs 🙂
If my Lady keeps takin’ in strays and baby pups, I’m a thinkin’ we need to just hang us a ‘shingle’ and declare it a shelter!
