Hot Dog Personalized Dog Collars, Leashes, and More! #Review

Review Disclosure

The other day my Lady was just a fussin’! Them pups, Ozzy and Brandi, were wrestlin’ as usual when Brandi grabbed Ozzy’s collar and wouldn’t let go. She yanked and yanked and yep, you guessed it! She broke it! It seems to happen a little to often for my Lady’s likin’. She blames it on their rough housin’ and them cheap-o clasp on the collars from the store. My Lady gets all of us a new necklace ever so often, but she don’t like havin’ to get em just cause they get broke. All them broken collars made my Lady decide to shop somewhere else. She found a place called Hot Dog Collars that had some personalized dog collars she said looked mighty fine!

Hot Dog Personalized Dog Collars, Leashes, and More! #Review

Well now, Hot Dog Collars. I think I want to be a Hot Dog. You can even get your name right on your collar and some have what they call artwork ya can put on there too! I know Ozzy was needin’ a new collar and Maggie’s was lookin’ purdy shabby too, so they are the ones that gets to get em this time. But, the way my Lady has been gushin’ over them personalized dog collars, I know I will get to be a Hot Dog soon too! I heard her tellin’ my Dad that she was orderin’ all of us one. Yippie! Now, that’s what I’m talkin’ ’bout WOOF! Since she is still a gushin’ over em, let me round her up to tell ya ’bout em…

Here’s what my Lady had to say about the Hot Dog Personalized Dog Collars and Products

If there is any one thing that is always in need for my pet family, it is dog collars. Leashes come in a very close second. When you have 7 dogs, someone is always needing a new dog collar. A few of my dogs are really rough on their collars. They are constantly wrestling and rough housing with each other. What makes it bad is that the dog collar is what they grab for on each other! So, forget the flimsy thin collars with flimsy clasp! They won’t hold up to the constant pulling and tugging from each other!

After a bit of searching, I found a company that has some amazing collars and leashes! Have you heard of Hot Dog Collars? I was amazed at all the choices they had for personalized dog collars! They had an awesome variety of cute, sturdy looking dog collars and I couldn’t wait to try them. But, before I show you what we chose, let me tell you a little bit about Hot Dog Collars.

We had a chance to try a couple different kinds of Hot Dog Collars, which I chose one for Maggie and one for Ozzy. They were the two in the worst need of new collars this go around. We also chose a simple solids leash in red, with reflective stitching, that would match either personalized dog collar. Finally, we chose a Rubit Dog Tag Clip to try out too! When you change collars as much as we have too, this simple clip sounded like a great solution to swapping all their dog tags over!

Hot Dog Personalized Dog Collar with Custom ID, Ozzy

Personalized Dog Collar with Custom ID

For my big boy Ozzy, I chose the Personalized Dog Collar with Custom ID. This particular collar comes with a ton of options to choose from! You get to choose the outer color, the inner color, the text, and artwork! For Ozzy, I thought the bright Royal Blue collar would look good with his black fur. Then, I chose bright red text and a paw print for the artwork.

I LOVE how bright the color is and again, just like with Maggie’s collar, it is a very heavy duty collar with a strong sturdy clasp.

Did you see the “great for active dogs” in the features? Well, Ozzy sure fits that category. Him and his sister Brandi are never still and never stop wrestling! The quality of this collar is amazing and it is standing up to their chewing and grabbing perfectly!

Hot Dog Collars Simple Solids Leash with Reflective Stiching

Simple Solids Leash with Reflective Stiching

It’s not often we use a leash, since we have plenty of running room in a large yard for them. But, there are the road trips, the vet trips, etc. when leashes are needed. With dogs this size, I want to know that the leash is going hold. I have been in a predicament where a clasp on a leash actually broke and I am very particular about them now! In searching for a new leash to match their collars, I found this Simple Solids leash with reflective stitching.

They had a wide assortment of colors to choose from, but I wanted the red to match both collars 🙂 The reflectiveness is in the stitches. And, do you see the size of the clasp on this leash?! YES! It is very heavy duty! Our leash is a size large (1″ wide and 5’long), making it perfect for my large dogs!

Simple Solids Leash Features

  • Designer Fabric Leash
  • Made in the USA
  • Poly/Cotton Blend
  • All weather nickel plated snap clasp for attachment to collar/harness
  • Loop handle for comfortable grip
  • Machine Washable
  • Backed by the Yellow Dog Design Inc 100% Guarantee
  • Note, reflective characteristic is achieved by sewing in lines of reflective thread running along the length of the top and bottom of the collar

Comes in Sizes:

  • XS:3/8″ wide x 5′ long
  • SM/Med: 3/4″ wide x 5′ long
  • LG: 1″ wide x 5′ long

Rubit Curved Dog Tag Clip

RubIt Curve Dog Tag Clip

The RubIt Curve Dog Tag Clip is an amazing idea! If you have dogs that shake their collars and tags during the night, this is the solution! You can easily remove their tags and clip back on in the morning. Or, if you are like me and constantly changing out collars, it makes quick work of changing their tags! All you have to do is unclip from the collar and clip onto the new one.

I have to admit I messed up. What possessed me to order a size medium for these big dogs and their large collars, I have no idea. But, the medium sized clip does not fit easily enough over the D-ring of the large dog collars. I should have ordered the large RubIt Clip. However, all is not lost! I can use the clip on Sallie’s medium collar and it works perfectly. So, for reference – you would need the large size for large sized D-rings. In other words, kind of judge by the size of the collar.

Comes in Sizes

  • Small – Diameter of 21.9 mm
  • Medium – Diameter of 27.2 mm
  • Large – Diameter of 33.3 mm

I do need to make mention of one con on the RubIt Curve Clip, or any clip. For dogs that rough house as hard as my pups do, there is a big chance you will lose the tags when using this. My pups that do all the tugging and pulling have lost tags even when permanently attached. However, for calmer and older dogs, like Sallie, it is perfect!

I cannot recommend the Hot Dog Collars highly enough!

The quality of the Hot Dog Collars and leashes is awesome! The variety and choices is amazing! And, the prices are VERY reasonable! Their prices are in line with the run-of-mill plain old collars from the store that are far less quality. So, YES! Hot Dog Collars is now my go-to place for pet collars and leashes! Why would I want to buy a plain Jane cheap-o collar, when I can get high quality, durable collars from Hot Dog Collars for the same price? Check them out at Hot Dog Collars and see what I mean! I’m sure your pooch would love to be a Hot Dog too!
