Did y’all know that there are more lost furbabies on the 4th of July than any other time?! It is the most dangerous time of the year for us furbabies! I know my sisters are really scared of loud noises. Heck, it thunders a little outside and they are shaking in the their paws! I don’t know what they are so scared of. Ya can’t see nothin’. I know I ain’t scared! Anyway, back to what I was sayin’. Here’s the deal on some pet safety tips for a happy 4th of July:
Ya really need to take some kind of precautions! Some of my outside friends have told me of actually diggin’ under their fence or jumping ’em all because they were scared! They take off, who knows where, and then can’t find their way home! So, if possible, please let ’em in. All they need is a quite place 🙂 If ya can’t do that, at least make sure they have an ID on their collar! That way, if they run off and get lost, maybe someone will help ’em home. Around here, them big sisters head under the bed, or under my lady’s feet. Them big dogs gettin’ under the bed is a whole ‘nother story for another day he he!
Another thing, please don’t leave any alcoholic beverages down where my buddies can drink it up. Believe me, they’ll probably lap it all up and act silly. But did ya know it could hurt ’em. It’ll make ’em sick for sure. Then, you’ll just have to clean it up! But, even worse it could put them into a coma or they could have respiratory failure!!! Not good! Not good at all!
And, keep them fireworks put up so none of my friends can take a notion to eat ’em! We ain’t particular. If it looks good, we’ll eat it 🙂 That wouldn’t be to good for ’em either. Some of ’em could be toxic!!!
Same goes for the food being cooked outside. Might be mighty temptin’, and ya know I would absolutely love some of it, but did ya know that it could upset our tummies!
I’m just tryin’ to look out look out for my buddies here. I would hate to hear they done run off and can’t be found or got sick 🙁 But for now, I think I hear somethin’! Sallie and Maggie are already takin’ off to the bedroom!!! Mind ya, I’m not scared, but I better go with ’em – just to help keep ’em calm 🙂
