I don’t worry a lot about my chompers. They seem right fine to me. But, my Lady is always helpin’ me and the pack care for our teeth and mouth with Oratene Brushless Oral Care products.
We have been using them for a long time now and all of us have purdy white teeth and healthy mouths.
The best part is, there’s NO BRUSHIN’ involved!
However, I know a lot of people that never even think about their dog’s dental health like that German Shepherd boyfriend of mine down the road.
I sure hope his Lady reads my post cuz he sure can use some tartar control and something for that bad breath of his WOOF!
Pearly white teeth and fresh breath are not all there is to it though.
Did you know that a dog’s dental health is just like a human’s in that it affects your overall health?
My Lady says dental health plays a very important role in keeping us healthy.
Lemme fetch my Lady to tell ya more!
Here’s what my Lady says about Oratene Brushless Oral Care
February is Dental Health Month which makes it a great time to talk about our pets and their dental health.
Miss Molly is correct in saying a pet’s dental health plays a major role in their overall health.
Just as in humans, dental disease can quickly turn into other health issues in addition to causing pain and discomfort.
And, should we mention the horrid breath it can cause?
Miss Molly and pack love and enjoy the Oratene Brushless Oral Care products!
Actually, they have been using them for quite a while now.
It’s a great day when we get to talk about a product we use AND firmly believe in!
So, grab a cup of coffee and join us today while we show you a few of our favorite pet oral care products and how easy it is to protect your pet’s dental health and help them live a long happy life!
What Makes Oratene Brushless Oral Care Special?
Oratene Brushless Oral Care is a great way to protect your pets dental health.
It offers superior oral protection against bad breath, plaque, and periodontal disease.
What makes it special, you ask?
Oratene Oral Care delivers two patented enzyme systems not found in any other enzymatic oral care line.
These enzyme systems effectively inhibit the bacteria that cause bad breath, boost the natural oral flora, help protect against gum disease and dissolve plaque biofilm.
Manage Poor Salivary Conditions
Some of our pets are at a disadvantage when it comes to their dental health.
Senior pets and pets on medications are a couple of examples.
Health problems and medications are notorious for causing dry mouth.
In turn, dry mouth can cause halitosis, periodontal disease, and tooth loss.
Unfortunately, this condition is often left untreated or misdiagnosed. A dry mouth can range from mild to extreme with the typical first sign being bad breath.
In addition, a chronic dry mouth creates an environment for bacterial and fungal overgrowth.
You may remember me telling you about our Brandi and her excessive water drinking due to dry mouth.
However, to make a long story short, her incontinence medication was causing her mouth to dry out and she was lapping up water like she couldn’t get enough.
The Oratene Brushless Oral Care products have been her savior!
She no longer drinks water excessively and her teeth and gums are in tip-top shape!
Does your pet take medications?
Be sure and read Brandi’s story of dry mouth due to medications here and how Oratene can be a benefit for pets on medications!
Indications of Dry Mouth in Pets Can Include:
- Tacky, thick saliva
- Granulated tissue
- Halitosis
- Food aversions
- Dry cracked tongue
- Plaque and calculus
- Ulcerations or lesions in the mouth
- Inflamed bleeding gums
- Receding gums
Let’s take a look at a few of our favorite Oratene products!
Oratene Toothpaste Gel
Oratene Toothpaste Gel is a clear gel form that provides maximum enzyme contact to inhibit harmful odor-causing bacteria and remove plaque biofilm.
It is super easy to use. Simply spread a thin 1/2″ strip to your finger and apply it to their gums once or twice daily.
Its gentle formulation relieves, soothes, and protects mouth tissue against dryness.
It DOES NOT contain Xylitol, alcohol, tooth-staining Chlorhexidine or Chlorine compounds.
The rest of the dogs in the pack enjoy the Oratene Brushless Toothpaste Gel too.
But, Miss Molly is ALWAYS first in line and ready for her nightly ritual!
She opens her mouth willingly and waits for her brushless toothpaste treatment!
As you can see, Miss Molly’s teeth and gums look amazing for an almost 7-year-old large-breed dog.
Her teeth are pretty and white to her and my delight.
And, she has NO horrid doggie breath!
It’s a good thing because she is a kissing fool!
She waits patiently while I rub it on her gums.
However, she cannot resist licking.
I think it must taste good to her or maybe it starts the saliva flowing.
SLURP! After a few good slurps, she is all done with her nightly teeth routine and is ready for her goodnight kiss and snuggling in bed.
Oratene Water Additive
Do you have pets who won’t allow you to touch their mouths? That alright! Oratene Water Additive is great for those pets that have an aversion to brushing like my senior girl Sallie and what I call the “munchkins” – Poco and Little Bit!
Sallie and the littles can be adorably ornery sometimes and especially when it comes to their mouths!
Sallie is just old and cranky, but is this a little dog thing??
The lovable trio absolutely refuses to allow anyone to come anywhere near their mouth!
It makes it difficult to use any kind of toothpaste.
However, the water additive is an easy way to give them dental protection!
The flavorless concentrate is easy to use by adding it daily to their drinking water.
It provides a safe, healthy way to conveniently clean a pet’s teeth, freshen breath, kill germs and remove plaque WITHOUT BRUSHING!
The Oratene Water Additive is also great for multi-pet households!
With 8 dogs in my household, a community water bowl is a must!
We have two water stations with bowls – one for the large breeds and one for the littles.
With 8, I won’t say how often they need to be refilled – EEK 🙂
However, the Water Additive is easy to use in both with a couple of squirts in the bowls – over, and done!
Of course, if your pet will allow it, using the Water Additive TOGETHER WITH the Toothpaste Gel will give them complete protection.
Oratene Breath Freshener
Let’s talk about dog breath, shall we?!
Ozzy is the love of my life, but WOWZA can he have some bad breath! He seems to love to eat anything and everything foul and by that, I mean dead stuff and yes, we will admit it – his favorite delicacy is poop!
We have tried our best to stop him, but there is no stopping a determined Ozzy!
Needless to say, after a feast of dead frogs and birds with a dessert topping of poop, he can have some knock-you-down breath!
Oratene Breath Freshener to the rescue!
Oratene Breath Freshener freshens and maintains a healthy mouth. It doesn’t just cover up the odor.
However, killing odors is not all Oratene Breath Freshener does!
In addition to freshening their breath, it also inhibits harmful and odor-causing bacteria and removes plaque biofilm.
Believe me, after seeing what he ate, I want it to kill ALL the bacteria in his mouth!
It comes in a 4 oz. bottle with a mister that delivers a fine-focused spray, making it easy to use.
Simply open their mouth and give a quick mist. It is quick and painless!
The pack doesn’t mind at all and I love the fresh minty breath when they come in for those big sloppy kisses!

Enjoyed your post, it is so important to keep your pet's teeth clean. When we got our little guy, his teeth were in such bad shape we had to have some pulled. He had to be put under for the cleaning and pulling, which is the case for most dogs. We have been keeping the rest of his teeth cleaned every day and he loves it. I think he knows if we don't he will have more tooth aches.

I'll share this with my mom, she has dogs. We thought for the longest that her Chaweenie had bad teeth, according to the vet his teeth are fine, but he has bad breath because of him being so nervous... I guess it's his stomach. gross.
