All us pups love the days we can go explorin’ outside! It’s been so hot here that we mostly been hangin’ in the house under that cold air that comes outta them square things in the floor. As a matter of fact, and I won’t call no names here, but they lay on em and the rest of us can’t get no cool air! Anyways, after that last storm, it got cooler and right nice outside! We are takin’ full advantage of it! When my Lady says it’s puppy playtime, we line up at the door! Woof! Woof!
Seager and me watchin’ over Ozzy and Brandi, or more like teaching em the ropes.
And, then the chase begins! Ozzy tackled me down and Brandi was rushin’ to put her 2 cents worth in! Maggie weren’t no help. She just stood by and let em take me down!
Ah, but the tables turned! I can still take that Ozzy any day! Then Brandi traded sides. Between the two of us, we showed him – us girls rule!
My backside got a bit dusty, but non the worse for the wear! I moved on and let the pups play, while I watched over em.
Maggie was a watchin’ the goin’ ons too! She’s always around to get my back if somethin’ is needed!
It’s sure awfully dusty outside! All that dust makes ya a might thirsty! We have us a cooler outside that my Lady keeps full of good cold water. Sure hits the spot after ya been playin’ hard! Maggie drank her fill…
Then Brandi got her a drink too. Ya know that Ozzy don’t just drink, he sticks his whole darn head in it. Must be the Lab in him! He comes up a slingin’ and slurpin’ water. Somebody needs to teach him some manners!
After they drank their fill, they found a stick to gnaw on. Trouble is, Ozzy had dirt stickin’ to all that water he had on him. What a mess!
Yep! He’s gettin’ purdy dirty! Just look at that dirt on his mouth and legs! My Lady’s gonna have to clean him up ‘fore she’s gonna let him back in the house!
Meanwhile, Little Bit was a chasin’ and yackin’ at me. I don’t pay much attention to that little sprite. She ain’t bigger than a fly, but she is purdy quick!
Somethin’ else caught her eye and she went on off a playin. She sure has made herself at home here! I don’t blame her though. She gets pampered quite a bit. I guess cause she’s so little and cute. Don’t tell her I said that! She might think I’m jealous or somethin’!
Sallie had been up by the house a watchin’ it all. She don’t run much anymore. She’s done got older and has a bad knee. Plus, she’s been a feelin’ bad with them allergies of hers. But, she seems to think she has to look out for that Little Bit.
She follows her around where ever she goes. I’m a guessin’ she has took it upon herself to be her protector! Sallie is like that. She is old and cranky, but she don’t want no body messin’ with any of us. She acts all fussy and crabby, but then if one of us hollers, she is right there to take care of whatever is botherin’ us! But, she don’t get to far from Little Bit.
Well, I guess them pups played their selves out! Here they come lookin’ like they going crash ‘fore they can get here. Brandi is tellin’ Ozzy “I gotsa go! I am ready for my nap!”
Now I know for some furbabies it ain’t no big deal. Take that Brandi and Ozzy. They have always been here cause they were born here. Considerin’ a stray had em here, they just don’t know how lucky they got it! My Lady got Sallie when she was only 4 weeks old and she ain’t known no hardships either. Maggie was chosen when she was 6 weeks old. But lemme tell ya – Seager was a livin’ in a cage barely fittin’ his dog house so no runnin’ room. He had been in that place for 2 years – just a sittin’ with no attention!!! He got them awful heartworms while livin’ there and we had to treat him and make him better. No one spent any time at all with him. Man, that musta been like a cruel jail!
We think Little Bit got deserted by her owner and dropped off here. And, take me for instance, I was only about six months old and it was all really scary! I had to roam forever it seemed like ‘fore I found my Lady. I was full of tics and fleas, just like Seager was, until we got here. I guess I may as well admit it, I was abandoned too 🙁
But now, we don’t have no bugs, we have full bellies, all our shots and we are lovin’ life! Most days we love spending at my Lady’s feet. But, we sure do love when puppy playtime gets here! At least now we are all healthy, fit and lovin’ life with not a worry in the world!
