We turn down the A/C to cool the entire house or a fan in whatever room we are in when it gets too hot. If our cat decides to join us on the patio we put a bowl of water out for him. He has a little elevated lounger that sort of looks like a trampoline that keeps him cool when he lays out on our screened in patio.
