Good Luck Y’all!
I don’t think my dog has ever been dehydrated but I am not sure that I would know the signs.
Now I know the signs to look for.
When my one Beagle was a bit sick, she was said to be slightly dehydrated when I took her to the vet. They gave her SQ fluids just to be safe.
no
My pet has not been dehydrated.
The usual panting but not drooling
I don’t think mine has ever been dehydrated. She always has water available.
I don’t think my dog has ever been dehydrated.
Not that I’m aware of but glad I now what to look for!
No,, my pet has not been dehydrated.
only once that i know of we were on a car trip and had not stopped for awhile, he started to get lethargic, so we pulled over and made sure our Butch had a nice long drink of water and a good walk before heading on.
My animals need this .
Once, on a trail run, it was very humid, I had water with me, but she still was having a hard time, so we packed it in and went home.
Not that I’m aware of, but i started giving my cat extra water and wet food after reading about how a lack of water for pets can contribute to harmful UTIs.
my daughters 3 dogs would love this
Yes! My kitty was sunning on our porch and fell asleep. The sun moved and she was no longer in the shade. It was 119 degrees out. Poor thing started panting; not normal for cats. I brought her inside and she gulped down water!
My little chihuahua has never been dehydrated that I am aware of. Nor have any of my other pets. I always make sure they have plenty of fresh water and I never leave them unattended for extended periods of time. I realize that sometimes illness can dehydrate them but I have never had that happen so far.
Not that I remember. OI have 2 bowls out of fresh water at all times.
Yes, I have a had few over the years that I have done cat rescue. I pull up the skin to tell if they are dehydrated.
I don’t think any of my animals have ever really gotten dehydrated – except perhaps when they were sick. I know my deaf hound girl, Ran, had to get fluid once or twice a week when we were trying to find a solution to her autoimmune disorder (less than four months after diagnosis I lost her). With three Treeing Walker Coonhounds and three cats, keeping water dishes filled (and clean) is a full-time job at our house. The cats will drink from the same water dishes as the dogs, and since the dogs tend to slobber, I’d love to have a fountain like this for the cats in the kitchen.
I have personally never noticed my pet being dehydrated. I always keep fresh water available to them.
I don’t think so. My dog is an indoor family member. I keep bowls of fresh water all over the house and remind him to stay hydrated constantly. He takes that advice seriously. 🙂 Thank you.
When he was sick he became dehydrated and we had to get him to the vet. It was a virus and we are so glad he was ok.
My pets have not been dehydrated.
I don’t remember anytime either my cat or dog was dehydrated. I try keeping a fresh supply available.
My pup got dehysrated once on a road trip i could tell because her gums got sticky
When I have to take my dog in the car she gets panicky and it’s the only time she drools but she seems a little dehydrated afterwards. She is a very nervous girl so she drinks alot when she gets calmed down.
I really like this
My pets haven’t been dehydrated before
My cat did get dehydrated before and i knew she didnt feel well and went to the vet and she had an IV my cats almost 20 so it can happen.
I don’t think so. I always make sure she has water.
I dont think so.
Yes, I lifted the skin at the nape of her neck and it took longer to settle down.
I don’t know about dehydrated because there are many water container around the house. The cat got crystal in his bladder a couple years ago, so there are water dishes through out the house. I don’t want him to go thur that operation again. He even drinks out of the dog water dish.
We have 2 puppies, we keep plenty of water and keep our eyes open.
Thankfully, Ranger has never been dehydrated, but before I got a smaller drinkwell fountain for the cats they didn’t drink nearly enough water. They are much healthier now.
i have 3 bowls always full in my house and one outside
Yes. My cat has bee dehydrated before. He is an outside cat mostly and noticed him kind of coughing, extra tired, not eating, puking and had pale gums. I finally had to squirt water in his mouth and help him to stay cool inside for a bit and he finally got much better and has been fine since.
I have not noticed dehydration, but I can see how that could happen in these hot moths.
As far as I know, my dogs have never been dehydrated. Hopefully they never will be. We make sure they have access to fresh water.
No, we have an ample supply of water for our boys, but this would be wonderful.
Not dehydrated as far as I know. He’s small so we keep him hydrated.
No, my dogs have not been dehydrated to my knowledge, but I appreciate the info so I know what to look for!
Yes, for sure! Especially after playing outside in the sun for a while! They start panting and I know to let them in right away to get some refreshing water!
Yes panting
Hi Miss Molly, yes my toy poodle got hydrated and not knowing that she had diabetes, she wanted more water than usual. This would of been ideal to let her be more comfortable. My grandsons dogs are both bigger in size and one is older so the older one relies on her scent to find the water bowl because she’s blind so this helpful pet product by #Drinkwell serves many health benefits for our loving fur family pets. I had never heard of the #Sedona Pet Fountain until today in your review post. Thank you
So far my pets have never been dehydrated. I try to make sure they have water all the time.
I do not believe our dog has dehydrated. I assume he would be panting a lot.
I don’t think my cats have ever been dehydrated
We’re pretty cautious about making sure they have enough water to drink at all times and encourage them to after they come in from being outside. We often give them ice cubes too because they love them as a treat. Thankfully none of them have been dehydrated. Thanks for the chance to win.
My Boston who passed 2 years ago, she would get dehydrated easily. She was really small and liked to run and run. She would have a dry nose and her lips would be really dry.
Not to my knowledge. But we are fortunate in that our pets have always been water hounds, they drink a lot.
No my dog has never been dehydrated.
My lab has been dehydrated because he has a dry cracked nose.
She hasn’t that I have known. She always has water near her so she just helps herself. Even when we go for walks or the dog park, she always has her bowl with her.
Yes my dog Lucy was panting badly! Love this
Yes Lucy was panting!
Yes, she panted excessively and acting lethargic
great design
My cat has. He has to have a fountain or he just can’t comprehend water at all!
my dogs been dehydrated when he had pancreatitis and was so sick. He needed IV fluids. They’re dehydrated when their gums are sticky and not pink
no, my pets have not suffered from dehydration.
Yes, they were acting “off” and their skin didn’t not bounce right back.
Did not know about the 1 ounce per pound body weight. Learning a lot about natural healthcare, raw food diets, herbalism, and essential oil usage/hydrosols. Reiki, a whole lot of methods. None mentioned the specific amount of water recommended. Now knowing this, if one of my pets becomes ill, I can use this as the expected water intake for healthy representation.
I don’t think he has. I am really good at routine of feeding and fresh water every morning!
Thankfully, not. My dog always is drinking enough water 🙂
No, my dog has never been dehydrated that I know of.
Fortunately none of my pets have ever been dehydrated. I make sure they always have fresh water inside and out. And they are basically indoor dogs so they spend little time outdoors when it’s hot especially. I know dogs will pant excessively and become lethargic which can quickly lees to heat stroke. Vomiting is another indicator
I hope he hasnt ever been dehydrated, but if I suspected he was I guess I would check the elasiticity of his skin by pinching on the back of his neck
Our dog doesn’t like hot weather, so we let him guide us in how much he wants to be outside. So, no, I don’t think he has been dehydrated.
My cat would love this!
The only pet that has ever been dehydrated was a tiny kitten that was found at the side of the road. Once we got some fluids into her and bottle fed her until weaning, she is doing just fine!
i don’t think that my dog has ever been dehydrated. she drinks when she wants to. maybe one time when we went on a 5 mile walk but as soon as we got back home she drank her fill.
My dog gets dehydrated when he stays under the bed for a long time. We can tell that he’s thirsty if we see paw prints in the tub. Usually we have to call him outside to see if he wants water. Sometimes he does, sometimes he doesn’t.
Just once. We took him to attend a St Patrick’s Day parade and the weather was unseasonably hot; there was nowhere around open for either us or him to get anything to drink. We learned our lesson and ALWAYS pack along water now.
I am not sure if they have ever been dehydrated I try to make sure they always have fresh cold water so i hope not
I don’t think I have witnessed my dog dehydrated before. He does stay inside though.
No thank goodness!
No our Doberman Zeus never has been dehydrated
I don’t have a story about any of our pets becoming dehydrated. I would guess you could tell by them becoming lethargic and panting.
I dont believe so, they always have fresh water available and ice too.
I don’t think he has been.
My dogs have been tired and thirsty, but I don’t think they were dehydrated.
I don’t know!
Not that I know of, we’ve always had water available to them.
Only when sick have we ever had a dehydrated pet. Normally they get lethargic and weak.
Sheesh! OK correct Twitter url >>> https://twitter.com/AnnaZed/status/890457740983754752
My dog has not been dehydrated
We had to take one of my cats to the vet for an enema one time and the vet said he was dehydrated and had to hydrate him.
I do think my dog has been dehydrated before during very hot weather. He seems more tired than normal.
My dog looked so exhausted and pooped.
No thankfully they have not, but I know what to look for and always keep an eye on them!
No they have not
I’ve never thought about it very much- I guess he would be panting a lot.
I always think they are dehydrated because it’s hot out and they are panting…. but they have water always and their noses are always wet so I think they are ok.
NOT THAT I KNOW OF———BUT THANKS FOR THE INFO—-I’LL KNOW WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN I CHECK OUT DEXTER.
I think our dog was a little dehydrated after a walk when it got a little hot. He was very thirsty when we stopped for a water break.
Pinkey is 16, blind, diabetic and arthritis in her back legs. She eats and drinks a lot of water due to taking prednisone, arthritis meds and 2 shots a day. I can’t stand the thought of not having her around. She is so sweet and sensitive.
Yes, I could tell because her mouth and nose were dry! The poor thing, we took her to the vet and got her hooked to IV liquids.
My dogs are all active and LOVE outdoor play… especially with the summer heat upon us, I am very conscious of making sure they keep hydrated. I may be a little “Helicopter Mom”-like… assuming that all sleepiness and/or panting is a sign of dehydration… but it keeps them safe, I suppose! Great post on what to keep an eye out for in terms of dehydration!
My dogs have never been dehydrated.
My one dog, who has addison, has been dehydrated because he couldn’t keep anything down.
I do not think she has ever been dehydrated since I give her all the water she could possibly drink.
I think so cuz her pee has been darker than normal
I have a couple of cats. To my knowledge they have not been dehydrated before!
Our dog became sick and wouldn’t eat or drink. The vet said he was dehydrated.
Not that I know of but I always make sure they have plenty of water.
one of my outdoor kitties was dehydrated when he was sick, he refused to drink or eat. But i make sure they all have water and food. This fountain would be so nice!
As far as I know my cat has never been dehydrated, I make sure she always has fresh water as well as let her drink from the bathroom faucet, my told me cats are very picky on certain things especially when it comes to food and water!
Im not sure but now I will be on the lookout!
I would say my dog has been dehydrated. I think anytime a dog is begging for water means they are already dehydrated!
Never been dehydrated but still would be useful
No, they have not.
I do not think my dog has ever been dehydrated but thanks to you I will now know the signs.
No, has not happened.
Has your pet ever been dehydrated?
Yes.
How did you know?
He drank all my beer in the fridge.
Yes, my grand puppy and I went for a walk. It was warm. I provided water while on the walk. Several minutes after getting back home, he vomited.
Yes, because the water bowl didn’t have any water. She let me know by scratching on the cabinet by the sink!
No, never. We’re pretty aware.
