Whew it’s been a long week here! But, my cat friends have been getting gussied up and ready for the weekend! Last week, we shared grooming advice for cats straight from Morris the Cat! And, now we’re back for the second installment of “Dear Morris,” featuring meows of wisdom from the world’s most famous feline, Morris the 9Lives spokescat. Morris wants to help you look (and feel) as good as he does! And to do that he’s offering advice, plus to chance to win a human-sized, 9Lives-branded bathrobe, a $300 Spa Finder gift card, and a whole year’s supply of 9Lives cat food! Enter at his website!
Meows of Widom from Morris the Cat!
My teenage daughter spends 45 minutes in front of the mirror every day primping and brushing her hair. I think this is excessive but she tells me it’s what makes her happy. Morris, since you always look fabulous, I thought you could give me some advice–what’s the best way to get her to spend less time in front of the mirror?
Sincerely,
Fur-ustrated Mamma
I know it may seem like I just wake up looking this good, but believe it or not, I put in lots of long hours licking my fur. In fact, as a cat, I groom up to 50% of the time I’m awake. Grooming not only makes you look good, it can be used for meditation–kind of like focusing really hard on a red laser dot. So I say, take the time you need to feel your best–whether it’s 5 minutes or 45. It’s a very purrsonal choice.
Morris has spoken, readers. Turns out there’s nothing wrong with a little extra gussying up. And to help you do that, be sure to enter Morris’s good-grooming giveaway at his Live Well & Prospurr website. You can also tweet #MorrisFeeds and Morris will donate a bowl of 9Lives cat food to a hungry rescue kitty.
But that’s not all! We have a giveaway tonight too!

A brush sometimes
A metal fine tooth comb, a brush, and her specialty treats,.
I’ve recently started brushing my cat because she’s a long hair and her hair had started to mat.
We have a grooming comb.
The cat that likes to be brushed has 3 different brushes I use. The other cat that hates to be brushed gets brushed with one brush when I can get him to stay still long enough.
We just use our hands. I really need to get a brush and do better than that!
I guess I just pet him aka grooming! CheddarBob only invites me to pet him by jumping into my lap. He is a low maintenance cat and takes very good of himself. If I look at him and he’s not sleeping, he’s usually grooming himself! He’s such a good cat that I can’t think of a better way to reward him than with a well groomed Kitty Kit! 🙂
I have an Oster Shedmonster I used for our Maine Coon, Koneko, who passed away last month. I need something for our shorter hair cats.
I have brushes that I use and shampoo to use too I have 4 cats and 3 dogs.
Comb and brush! That is when my 2 cats will let me groom them.
I use a furminator and cleaning wipes.
No cat- just entering to donate.
I have a groom zoom, but he hates it.
i dont have cats but i would like to win to donate to the pet food bank. i would use a brush, and a comb if the cats had long hair. you also have to be careful if you have dogs as well because some of the cat and dog products cant be used on both, like shampoos, etc. i also use the cat nail clippers. i have used them on my dogs as well, especially when they were babies.
a brush
A soft dog brush rofl
Our cat has a kitty brush that he really enjoys nightly. It really keeps the shedding down too!
My cats love being brushed with the Furminator.
I have a medium-hair orange tabby named Cheeto and since she sheds more than our other kitties, I just use a cheap cat brush I picked up but it really doesn’t do a good job of getting rid of the excess hair.
I have a brush but the cats don’t like it much.
We use a rubber brush on the cats and a metal comb.
We brush him alot and use oatmeal.spray to help him not be so dry
Carmine and Lita get little “baths” with pet bath wipes if they need it.
I use a Furminator brush for my long haired kitties.
I use a furminator n one of our cats ad he hates it. I use a regular brush on the others since they have shorter hair.

I use a kitty brush on my 2 rescue kitties I adopted.
I have a slicker brush for ours. They aren’t huge fans of it though.
My kitties would love all this.
All we use are a brush or comb
I use a Zoom Groom.
I have three cats. Two adults and one kitten. I don’t touch the kitten yet because she gets well groomed by the adult cats. One of our adult cats loves to be groomed with a comb or a small brush and the other cat does not like it at all and runs away. I think it is because she is very old.
They go to a pet grooming store
Ive never really groomed my kitty
I have a furminator and a bristle brush that I use the most often.
I just have a very ineffective brush. I really need to get something better.
We brush them occasionally but they do most of the grooming.
That might seems helpful.
