Flea and Tick Season is Here!

Critters! Critters! Creepy crawly critters! Flea and tick season is here and they give me the heeby-geebies! I remember when I first met my Lady, after I had been roamin' around for a long time, I was covered in fleas and ticks! My Lady said I had so many it took hours to get 'em all off. I don't remember much cause all that blood sucking had me so sick I just laid there and fell plum asleep while they got 'em off. Truth be known, I slept for days, and then it took a long time to feel better 🙁

With Spring and the warmer weather, the flea and tick season is officially here! That means them buggy critters are gonna be stalkin' us furbabies!

Since I found my Lady, and came here to live, I ain't had to worry about them crawly things! Woof! Woof! My Lady puts 'stuff' on all us furbabies every month to keep all those little monsters off of us! And yea! They're monsters! Just look at them there pinchers!

And, when ya get one of them little suckers, and I mean that literally, are gonna multiply by hundreds over night!

My lady says there are different kinds of preventatives you can use. One of the most common kinds is one you apply on the skin between the shoulder blades. A few of them are: Frontline, Vector, Advantix, Advantage and Revolution. If ya apply these it will kill the fleas and provide protection for up to one month! Some of the products will also prevent the flea eggs from developin'! My Lady use to get us the Frontline, but now we are using the Vector. There are also collars, powders, sprays, dips, and shampoos that will help with the problem. My Lady doesn't seem to think these work as well as the application types. Oh, and if you're like us and have more than one furbaby, you got to put it on all of 'em! If ya don't, it's not gonna work out!

There has been talk of some of these causing problems, especially the Sargeant's and Hartz, but there have been a whole lot more furbabies that have died from flea infestation! That's where them little critters suck lots of blood and the furbaby gets sick and dies from blood loss! Plus, them fleas can cause disease and tapeworms!  Them fleas and tics are both horrible monster critters that cause all kinds of troubles! We still don't recommend the Sargeant's and Hartz! It might be cheaper and easier to get, but ya really need to check with your vet and find out what's best for your furbabies!

CAREFUL!!! Don't ever use flea and tick medication intended for us dogs on our cat friends! It could possibly kill 'em! They need the kind made specially for cats. Them cats always gotta be different! Woof!
