Homemade Dog Shampoo Soap Bars for Itchy Skin

DIY Dog Shampoo Soap Bars to Sooth Your Pup’s Itchy Skin

Yield: 6 – 3.5-ounce bars

Ingredients needed:

  • 1-pound melt and pour soap
  • 1 tablespoon Sweet Almond oil
  • 1/4 cup oatmeal
  • 1/4 cup lavender
  • 10-15 drops of cedarwood essential oil
  • 10-15 drops of peppermint essential oil
  • 10-15 drops of chamomile essential oil
  • Spray bottle of rubbing alcohol
  • Silicone Oval Mold
  • Measuring cup

**All ingredients and utensils used can be found on Amazon or at Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Michael’s, etc.

How to make these easy Dog Shampoo Soap Bars:

Place the soap base in a microwave-safe bowl and melt in 30-second intervals until completely melted.

Once melted, add the almond oil and essential oils.

Spray the mold with rubbing alcohol.

Then, pour just enough soap to cover the bottom of each cavity of the mold.

Spray again with the rubbing alcohol. This will help keep bubbles from forming.

After the soap hardens, sprinkle roughly a teaspoon of each of the oatmeal and lavender into each cavity of the mold.

Spray again with the rubbing alcohol.

After the soap has completely hardened, fill each cavity with more of the melted soap almost to the top and spray with rubbing alcohol.

Allow the soap to harden for about 30 minutes or until a semi-hard film has formed.

For the final step, sprinkle about a teaspoon of oatmeal and a teaspoon of lavender into each cavity of the mold and cover with the remaining soap.

Allow the mixture to harden for at least two hours.
