For some of my pack, I went so far as to give up on trying to place it in a treat and when it didn’t work, I gave up and went straight for placing it in their throat.
So, I put on my thinking cap and came up with the idea of a homemade pill picket that they would love and WANT to scarf up! In other words, irresistible!
The whole pack loves these dog pill pockets and no longer fights with me about taking their medications!

Homemade Dog Pill Pocket Treats with Peanut Butter and Oats
Ingredients needed:

1 T Water
1 T Natural peanut butter
3 T oats
Items Used:
Mixing bowl
Blender or food processor
A meat thermometer, or something similar, to create a hole
How to make these tasty Homemade Dog Pill Pockets:
Add quick oats into a blender or food processor and pulse until flour consistency.
In a mixing bowl, combine the water, peanut butter, and oat flour together.
Remove a spoon full of dough and shape it into balls.

Use a meat thermometer or something similar to create a hole.
Your pill pockets are ready to use!

Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
To serve with medication, simply push a pill into the hole and shape around the pill.
Tips:
If too thin, you can add more oats to get the correct consistency. They do not have to be processed into a powder.
Make sure you are using natural peanut butter or peanut butter with NO XYLITOL!

Natural peanut butter is healthier than regular or processed peanut butter because it does not contain any added sugars or oils.
