This Rainbow Bridge Poem always brings a little comfort to those that have lost a pet.
When we lose a pet, there is a hole left in our hearts that simply can’t be filled.
We have such a short time with our beloved furbabies and when they leave for Rainbow Bridge, it brings gut-wrenching grief.
For pet parents, it is grief that is equal to losing a human family member!
Over the years, we have lost so many furbabies and each one takes a little piece of heart with them.
For us, we choose to believe they are happily romping in a better place and someday we will meet again!
So, for any that are suffering the loss of a beloved pet, we hope this Rainbow Bridge poem brings at least a little comfort to you.
Rainbow Bridge Poem
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….

We don't own are pet's They own us (The life of Petunia)Fifteen years ago on a bright and sunny day I opened my backdoor to take out the trash. I stepped out on the deck and was greeted by a young beautiful kitten. Well, I said what are you doing here? Not afraid, she said, I'm lost and I can't find my way home. I said are you hungry? She said yes and I said me too. I fixed us some tuna and we had lunch together. She hung around a couple days and we talked a lot. I hung a sign out front of our house stating we have a lost cat here, but no response. On the third day I asked would you like to come in, and she said ok. I held the door open and she walked in, on her own, in a peaceful, quiet way and without worry or extreme emotion. We watched tv, the animal channel, our favorite thing and we ate. Fifteen years later here we are. At the end of her life she was a very sick pet taking many trips to Greece NY. Animal Hospital they were GREAT and very kind. It was time to put her to sleep. it was very hard. My sister in law Michele, suggested Harris Funeral Home Rochester NY. Harris gave us more than we expected and was VERY kind and understanding. The total cost $190.00 They provided us with a small wake, and the cremation along with a small cherry wood box to keep Petunia in. Not expecting more, and totally unexpected they provided a beautiful poem, Until We Meet Again, The Rainbow Bridge, a piece of her fur, and her paw print. What can I say, it was very kind. I'm holding back tears. Also, my wife called Chewy.com pet food to cancel are automatic refill for her food. My wife spoke to a young woman named Jennifer and stated our pet has passed way and we need to cancel. She was VERY kind and spoke with us for a long time. Chewy.com sent us a beautiful flower arrangement to our house, it was VERY kind and thoughtful. Flowers provided by Red Rose Florist Rochester NY. see pics It's not often in todays economy and hyperinflation that I recommend someone or a business, but today I will. Harris Funeral Home for people or pet's. A 10 Greece Animal Hospital. A 10. Chewy.com. A10 and Red Rose Florist A10. Yes we are animal people and we love our pet's. I can't wait to see my little one on the other side. She was my soulmate. I lost her way too early and so tragically. I cry almost every night while looking at videos and pictures of her. Many people say "Just get another cat, there's plenty of them!" They don't understand the love, compassion and companionship people share with certain pets. My baby was my everything. She was so sweet and I miss her all the time. I hope I can get to a place mentally that I am at peace with her loss.
