Rainbow Bridge Poem – We Will Meet Again!

rainbow bridge, rainbow bridge poem

This Rainbow Bridge Poem always brings a little comfort to those that have lost a pet.

When we lose a pet, there is a hole left in our hearts that simply can’t be filled.

We have such a short time with our beloved furbabies and when they leave for Rainbow Bridge, it brings gut-wrenching grief.

For pet parents, it is grief that is equal to losing a human family member!

Over the years, we have lost so many furbabies and each one takes a little piece of heart with them.

For us, we choose to believe they are happily romping in a better place and someday we will meet again!

So, for any that are suffering the loss of a beloved pet, we hope this Rainbow Bridge poem brings at least a little comfort to you.

Rainbow Bridge Poem

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.

There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.

His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.

Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.

The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….

I can't wait to see my little one on the other side. She was my soulmate. I lost her way too early and so tragically. I cry almost every night while looking at videos and pictures of her. Many people say "Just get another cat, there's plenty of them!" They don't understand the love, compassion and companionship people share with certain pets. My baby was my everything. She was so sweet and I miss her all the time. I hope I can get to a place mentally that I am at peace with her loss.
