Shed No More Supplements for Dogs | Is it Possible to Minimize Shedding? #Review

My Lady is always a cleaning ’round here. She runs one of them big noisy machines that sucks things up, all the while a fussin’ ’bout dog hair! I just sit back and watch. I know I shed some hair, but mine is short and from what I can tell it ain’t much. But, them brothers and sisters of mine are a mess! They may be purdy with all that hair, but it sure does get everywhere! They walk by and you can even see hair fallin’ off of em. They leave fur balls everywhere! Well, a few weeks ago my Lady heard about some stuff called Shed No More from PL360. Heck, I thought somethin’ was wrong with her cause she went to squeelin’ and carryin’ on!

Shed No More? What was they gonna do – shave em? Hum! I thought things were gonna get mighty interestin’ round here! But as it turned out, it was supplements for em to take. Kind of disappointin’ WOOF! I don’t know much about supplements, so I’ll let my Lady do the tellin’.

When you live in a house with 7 dogs there is just no way around dog hair! Four of my lovable pups are shepherds, or shepherd mixes. For any of you familiar with shepherds, you know they shed like crazy. Don’t get me wrong, all dogs shed and excess shedding at certain times of year is considered normal. But, excessive unseasonal shedding is a different story! At my house, at any given time, you can see the tumbleweeds of dog hair floating across the floor! Sweeping, or vacuuming, will produce a pile of dog hair that looks like another adopted pup that has been hiding in the house!

Then, I heard about a supplement called Shed No More from PL360. You probably heard me squealing in excitement over here! YES! YES! YES! I want – strike that – I NEED those supplements!

Safety First!

But wait! However excited I was to try these new Shed No More supplements – safety first! I am really particular about what I give my dogs. Actually, I never give them anything without checking with my vet first. Call me paranoid, but my pups are my babies and I am super careful with them!

Once I had the Shed No More supplements in hand, I stopped by my vet’s office and had her check them out. She read the label and gave me the go-ahead. She did, however, mention that one of the inactive ingredients was brewer’s yeast and that some dogs could be allergic to it. If they were, she said it would cause itching and scratching and to stop giving them. After saying that, she also felt that being an inactive ingredient, there was not enough in there to hurt anything. She did not know if the supplements would work, but stated that it was worth a try. With the go-ahead given, my excitement returned and I was anxious to get home and get my pups started on them!

What is Shed No More?

Shed No More is a supplement for dogs that is specially formulated with essential oils to support healthy skin and coat. It is especially great for dogs who exhibit unseasonal shedding. The chewable tablets are tasty flavor of beef and cheese, which my pups love! They just think they are getting more treats! Sneaky huh?

Shed No More Dosage

The dosage depends on your dogs weight. However, when you first start out, you want to gradually introduce Shed No More into your pet’s diet over a 10-14 day period to avoid gastrointestinal upset. We started at one chewable tablet twice a day, then moved to two twice a day, until finally we went to 3 twice a day. My shepherds average around 100 lbs, so their regular intake is 3 in the morning and 3 at night.

The results are not immediate. It takes a good 4-6 weeks to see any difference. Continued daily use throughout the seasonal shedding cycle is recommended.

How to Minimize Shedding

Grooming plays a big role in shedding. Bathing on a regular schedule and keeping them brushed. Brushing helps remove the lose hair. I brush all my dogs every other day. But, as you know, some dogs shed and shed some more! During certain seasons brushing the shepherds looks like I have had a sheep shearing in my yard! The more you brush, the more keeps coming out and you wonder why they aren’t bald!

Even with the brushings, we still had dog hair dancing across our floors, on the furniture, on our clothes, and literally everywhere. But, since using the Shed No More supplements, we have had a slow down! I won’t go so far as to say it has eliminated the shedding because it hasn’t. But, it has slowed down dramatically! Hey, as that Dierks Bentley song says “I’ll settle for a slowdown!” At least now, our socks and slippers don’t look like we have grown fur! If you have dogs and dog hair, you know what I mean 🙂

We are enjoying the slow down in their shedding! Between regular brushings and their tasty Shed No More “treats”, I finally feel like we are getting a grip on the dog hair takeover at our house!
