Veterinary Research: How Technology Has Improved the Lives of Pets

Stem Cell Therapy Options

This controversial type of therapy can offer a wide range of benefits.

The majority of debate comes from embryonic stem cell research.

There are also adult stem cells available.

Humans are not the only recipients of this new technology.

There are hundreds of new treatments available with the use of adult stem cells.

The most recent use of this treatment in pets is for arthritis.

The stem cells are harvested from your pet’s abdomen and then rejected after the purification process.

This has shown a great benefit in reducing the symptoms of arthritis.

It is also safer than the continued use of painkillers.

Improved Camera Technology

Imaging technology has improved the diagnosis of pets.

This has led to an increase in being able to treat them.

Infrared and thermal cameras, like those from Infrared Cameras Inc, are used in veterinary research.

These research projects are allowing for more opportunities to increase a pet’s lifespan. Fiber optics is another tool.

This is more commonly known as an endoscope.

With this arsenal of camera technology, your pet can receive a more accurate diagnosis.

This gives your vet a more specific set of treatment plans.

Having a treatment that is tailored to the disease leads to better outcomes.

Use of Laser Surgery

Laser surgery generally has better outcomes than traditional surgical methods.

There is less bleeding associated with the procedure.

Even a little bit of blood loss in your pet can be dangerous.

It also has reduced healing times since the incision can be smaller.

This can reduce the overall amount of pain that your pet experiences.

Laser surgery offers a higher degree of accuracy. It shortens the amount of time that your pet will need to be under anesthesia.

This is due to the fact that the surgery can be completed quicker.

A faster surgery can lead to a better outcome for your pet.

Better Anesthesia and Monitoring

There are newer types of anesthesia available that are faster-acting.

They also wear off quickly once the surgery is completed.

This reduces the risk associated with anesthesia for your pet.

Another breakthrough has been the ability of your vet to monitor your pet while under anesthesia.

They are better able to manage any complications that may occur during the surgery.

This makes routine surgeries safer for your pet.

People are carefully monitored during surgery. Pets should be as well.

Many manufacturers offer one device that can be hooked up to your pet to obtain all of their vital statistics.

Technological advancements are pushing the limits of veterinary medicine.

Consider the ways that these technologies are improving the life of your pet.

Going to the Vets with my pets is so interesting . You met the nicest people. Everyone talks to each other in the waiting room. The animals may not like it, but it's only for a check up.

Love these woofs?

Help spread our waggie tales. You're pawesome for doing it!
