I am blogging on behalf of BlogPaws Pet Blogger Network and the AKC. I received compensation for my time from the AKC for sharing my views in this post, but the views expressed here are solely mine.
Around here, there are seven of us furbabies and my Lady has her hands full dealin’ with us. She says it’s important for us to know how to behave right and proper. Now I don’t know the how’s or why’s, but I like learnin’! However, there are a few of us, and I won’t mention no names, that are stubborn. But, my Lady found some dog trainin’ help from the AKC GoodDog! HelplineSM that she sure is excited about! She sure is bustin’ at the seams to tell y’all about it, so I’m gonna let her to do the tellin’…..
Here’s what my Lady has to say about the AKC GoodDog! HelplineSM!
Miss Molly is right in saying seven (large breed) dogs are a handful. While our motley pack of rescues may not be training for anything in particular, sometimes you just need help with basic dog training tips and common dog behavior problems. For me, the training is important in keeping control of seven large dogs living within one household! But, even if we only had one dog, who doesn’t want their dog to be well behaved and have good doggie manners!
Most of our pack are adults, but we have two 6-month olds and we somehow managed to make it through puppy potty training with two of them at the same time. Whew, that was tough! Now, all the dogs know the basics such as sit, lay and shake but we are still dealing with some other common dog behavior problems in all of them and could really use some help. Even though they listen fairly well, they seem to have what I call “selective hearing” sometimes! We need advice and tips on behaviors such as:
- dog chewing problems
- dog aggression
- jumping on guest, and us, at the door!!!
- common doggie manners
I am really excited about the AKC GoodDog! HelplineSM and being able to talk with knowledgeable dog trainers! Now that I have the service, I can call them up anytime for tips on dog training and tips on solving common dog behavior problems! After all, who better to get tips and suggestions from than the AKC?! Their knowledgeable trainers can give me specific tips to try and they are only a phone call away, anytime! I have enrolled Maggie in the service. She is the leader of the pack here and the others follow her lead. So, we have began working on some issues with the added tips and advice they have given us! If I run into trouble, I can just call them! Who knows? Maggie is super smart, so maybe, with training tips and advice, we may be able to move on to other adventures for her!

Thank you so much for sharing this - I have a large dog too and I can not get him for jumping on the door whenever he hears a noise. I am so glad that there is a place I can at least and ask questions. I had no idea!

YAY! This might just have to be an early Christmas present for my parents! I have recently adopted a shelter puppy for them! Jake is a German Sheppard Mix and he is super energetic right now! I am the only one he will really listen to and I can't be there all the time! Sounds like a great service! Thank you for the information!
