It has been a long and lazy Summer here. Us pups have lazed around under the cool air in the house with my Lady. Oh, sure, we go outside for our exercise times and we play games of fetch with my Lady, but then we are just as anxious to go back inside with her. Truth be known, it is down right hot outside! Well, hot, and we want to be with my Lady WOOF! But when we are inside there ain't much to do 'cept lay there. It gets kinda borin' and that's why my Lady is always gettin' us what she calls "enrichment toys". Well, the other day, my Lady got us some new Petmate® JW® Hol-ee Gourmet™ dog treat toys that have brightened up our long Summer days!
Them Hol-ee Gourmet dog toys are fun, fun, fun WOOF! All us pups love em! They keep us right busy trying to get to the tasty treat. I don't know what them big words like "enrichment" means, but I sure do like the toys we get cause of it and the fun enrichment activities we get to do WOOF! Lemme me fetch my Lady to tell ya more!
Here's what my Lady says about the Petmate Hol-ee Gourmet Interactive Dog Toys
Miss Molly and the pack are the joy of my life. I love them dearly and always want what is best for them, both PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY. Of course, they need lots of love and belly rubs! However, to keep them at their healthiest and happiest, they need good nutritious food, exercise, AND mental stimulation. Mental stimulation helps keep their minds active, expels pent-up energy, and leaves you with a happy dog. Expending energy is a good thing when it comes to dogs! Have you heard the saying that a "tired dog is a good dog"? A lot of troublesome behavior in dogs can be solved by adding enrichment toys and activities to their lives!
My pups are always by my side, or at my feet. Even though they have a large fenced-in yard to play in, none of them will go outside unless I go with them! While we go outside for playtime and games of fetch, the rest of the day I am busy with household chores and online work. It's not very exciting to sit and watch someone type, now is it? Even if they would go outside by themselves, that isn't a total solution either. Dogs get bored and bored dogs can become destructive. Enrichment toys like the Petmate Hol-ee Gourmet Interactive dog toys are the solution!
What are Hol-ee Gourmet Interactive Dog Treat Toys?
The Hol-ee Gourmet line of treat-dispensing dog toys are high-quality, durable toys of mixed material. The intelligently designed two-in-one treat toy will entertain your dog and stimulate their mind, while being able to withstand chewing! The Hol-ee Gourmet enrichment toys encourage interactive play, while helping treats last longer.
Let them Play with Their Food!
The Hol-ee Gourmet collection of dog treat toys come in 3 fun designs: a turkey leg, a steak, and a peanut! They are available in 2 sizes: Small/Medium and Medium/Large and the best part is they sell for a MSRP under $15! My big dogs have the Medium/Large size.
Each toy in the Hol-ee Gourmet collection comes with a sample of Himalyan Yaky Puffs treats. You can also use other treats or dog biscuits. Since they really have to work at getting the treat, it is a great way of providing them high value treats without them just scarfing them down and you going broke!
You can stuff the outer Hol-ee shell with larger treats and/or you can smear soft, spreadable treats, like peanut butter (xylitol free, please), on the inner nylon bone.
Enrich Your Dog's Life!
A dog treat toy may seem like such as simple thing, but you will be amazed at the energy they use while playing and trying to get the treat! It stimulates their minds, while they are working to get the treat. Using their minds uses energy that tires them out. Have you ever been mentally tired from a long busy or stressful day? If you have, then you know it can be more tiring than doing physical work!
It has been proven that dogs that do not get enough exercise and/or aren't mentally stimulated may become destructive and unmanageable. Even if you provide daily walks and a game of fetch, they still need a form of mental stimulation to keep their minds active. The Hol-ee Gourmet line of interactive dog toys is a great way to enrich your dog's life and keep them happy and healthy!
The Hol-ee Gourmet dog toys are great for inside or outside! Just keep in mind you need to supervise when pets are playing with chew toys!
TIP: I like to rotate the toy and the treats I put in them every day or so. It is also beneficial to rotate with other fun enriching games and activities. This keeps your dog from getting bored.

Pet treats/toys (especially these items shown by a beautiful dog) hace come a long way over the years.

I really like that treats will last long! Save a little money. It's nice that you can use your own treats and not have to buy theirs.

The dogs would really like these, but I do have concerns over how long the plastic would last!

Do you know if these types of treat-toys are a recommended deterrent for an overly bark-y dog? I've just been on the lookout for solutions to my mom's sometimes boisterous puppy. While these I'm sure would keep her busy (and she'd love them and I might get her one regardless) and bark-free for awhile... I'm not sure exactly that it's a *solution* per se.
Btw, not trying to put you on the spot by any means, just thought it couldn't hurt to ask 🙂
Molly says
The will help keep her busy and occupied, but I don't believe they will stop barking. If the barking is coming from boredom, them maybe. But, some dogs are just yappy 🙂

My dog gets bored and chews. But on himself. This could really help him. Since he loves treats he might keep busy,
