They sound quite refreshing and healthy. Frozen treats are so easy to make and so good in the summer when it is hot out.
Our Luke loves fresh fruit but the girls are far more picky. Mixing fruit into treats is the only way to get them to eat some! These sound great, and we just got a new silicone mold too. We’ve pinned it and hope to be making some soon! Thanks for the broth recipe too. I’m never sure how to do that, and we cook a turkey every once in a while and I’d love to make our own broth to use.
I have homemade stock from yesterday and now I know a great way to use it. Thanks for the inspiration
I’m making my grocery list for tomorrow and now I have these wonderful, healthy ingredients on the list! Where did you get the dog bone silicone mold? I’d love to buy the same one for these and perhaps make a bunch when dog friends come over!
What a great idea. I was thinking of using some unsweetened applesauce instead of the chicken broth, My molds are bigger than yours , but it would still be a nice, cool summer treat and low calorie too, for those puppers who are watching their waists. (Especially because our walkies are limited during this heat.)
I need to try this for my dogs, I freeze pumpkin for them, but haven’t ever tried fruit and broth. I bet they would love it. Thanks for the broth recipe!
My dogs would go crazy over this frozen treat that contains all their favorites. It was 100 degrees here yesterday and doggie pops would be perfect with weather like that!
OMD they look so good, have printed out the recipe thanks
Definitely, will give this recipe a try. I think my doggy would like these frozen treats. Thanks for sharing!
this is a wonderful treat, all 3 of my girls love apples and blueberries. yum. i always use unsalted chicken broth for both me and my girls. glad to see you mention unsalted.
Oh, I’m so glad to have found this recipe– thank you for posting it!
My mother’s dog, Sally, is allergic to wheat and dairy, and I’ve recently started looking around for simple treat-recipes that I could make. This recipe looks great! …But Sally’s will likely be shaped like little hearts or stars (the two little silicone-mold shapes that I have), and not dog-bones. I don’t think she’ll mind. 🙂
It has been pretty hot here in NY too, My mom’s dogs have been enjoying all things cool. These are so easy and healthy. I have everything here. I’m gong to make them tonight and surprise my parents and pups tomorrow! Thanks for the fun and great summer treat recipe!
These are so easy & great for keeping them cool in the summer!
This is such a fun twist on ice cubes! I’m sure my pup will love the tasty change of pace!
Huh. I never would have thought to give dogs blueberries.
I added some peanut butter to this recipe and eliminated most of the water. The dogs ate it up.
Awesome! I will have to try that!
I will have to share this with my family and friends, I am sure they would love to give their dogs a treat like this. Looks very healthy for them also.
