Homemade Parmesan & Spinach Dog Treats
Ingredients:
3 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup frozen pureed spinach
1 cup beef or chicken broth-low sodium
½ cup parmesan cheese
1 Tbsp. parsley
1 egg, large
1 Tbsp. coconut oil
Recipe makes about 18-20 standard cookie cutter Christmas trees
How to make these tasty Parmesan & Spinch Dog Treats:
Preheat oven to 350°
Line a cookie sheet with foil, parchment paper, or a silpat mat.
Thaw spinach completely.
You can use spinach as is and recipe will be just fine, I chose to further puree it in my chopper to make it a finer texture.
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl until well mixed.
Flip dough out onto a well floured surface and knead for 1 minute.
Roll out to ¼ “ thickness and cut into desired shapes.
Bake for 11-14 minutes until golden brown- I pull mine out at about 12 minutes because my pups prefer a slightly softer texture.
Store in an airtight container for up to 10 days in the refrigerator or 2 months in the freezer.

Thank you so very much for this recipe. I have a 15 year old rescued “puppy” that we adore. I have opted to put her on a no corn, soy, or pork diet. This puts a limit on what kinds of “cookies” I can buy for her. This recipe looks like one she would enjoy. Thanks so much!
