Issue of Safety: CBD for Your Pets

CBD is known for its pain-relieving, anti-inflammatory, anxiety-reducing properties. But did you know that it works for your pets as well? And for them, it’s as effective as for you! CBD can bring the necessary relief whether you want to treat your dog’s pain or reduce his anxiety. But do you know how to use CBD for your pets?

Don’t worry, you don’t have to deal with it alone. In this article, you’ll find all the important information on giving CBD to your pet.

For example, did you know that there are special  CBD snacks for dogs? Or that there are different CBD oils for cats, dogs, and horses? Here’s all the helpful information you may need:

Issue of Safety: CBD for Your Pets

What is the Difference Between Human and Pet CBD?

Even if you buy bulk cbd oil, don’t rush to give it to your pet. There’s a reason why there are special CBD products for pets, and it’s not only a part of a marketing campaign.

CBD snacks contain an appropriate dosage for your pet’s size and weight.

Fun fact: While the products for you and your pet have different concentrations of CBD, but each of you can experience the same effects. And that’s not the only thing in common.

CBD for pets and humans is basically taken from the same plant, and they differ only by concentration.

Theoretically, you can take your pet’s CBD – just make sure there are no additives made specifically for pets.

Is It Safe?

CBD doesn’t have psychoactive effects. On the contrary, it stimulates the endocannabinoid system that every mammal has. Thus, it won’t make your pet “high” – however, make sure that there is no more than 0.3% of THC in the final product. Also, use pet-focused CBD reasonably.

Of course, like any product, CBD can cause side effects in dogs. They include dry mouth, high blood pressure, and drowsiness, especially if you use higher doses to treat anxiety.

To minimize these side effects, use the proper dosage.

Medications can interfere with CBD, so if you’re giving your dogs any meds on a daily basis, please consult your vet before giving them.

How to Choose the Dosage?

CBD for pets comes in a wide variety of concentrations: from 150 mg to 5000 mg. There’s no universal dosage either for humans or for dogs.

The optimal concentration is determined by your pet’s weight, but it’s always safe to start with low doses and monitor the effects. If you see any side effects, lower the dosage, and if there are no effects at all for around 30 days, adjust it.

Pet CBD comes in different concentrations: some products are filled with CBD, while others have almost none. This is so because smaller pets need a smaller dosage.

Because of this, for example, you will be able to get a product for your cat containing only 150 mg of CBD, while a person who has a big dog will get a more concentrated version, containing 3000 mg of CBD.

How Can I Give CBD to My Pet?

CBD oil for pets can be served in different ways: you can either put it directly into the mouth or add it to treats.

Liquid formulas usually allow for precise intake control, so don’t worry about giving your pet the wrong dose.

For those pets that won’t eat anything that smells or tastes strange, there are special products, like CBD oil, that taste like peanut butter or meat treats.

How to Choose Pet CBD?

Firstly, look at the CBD concentration and choose the one most appropriate for your pet.

Secondly, check if the CBD oil is organic and certified – this way, you’ll be sure it won’t harm your pet.

Also, look out for toxic substances like pesticides, herbicides, or heavy metals – cheaper CBD products can contain them.

And finally, make sure there’s little or no THC in the product.

Wellness Support for Your Dog

CBD is getting more and more popular every day, and there is a reason behind it. Its positive effects on humans as well as on dogs help maintain balance in the body.

If you want to help your pet stay healthy, you can try CBD. However, be careful – make sure you choose the right dosage and that it won’t cause side effects.

A veterinarian’s advice is always helpful. And don’t worry – if you follow all the rules, CBD is absolutely safe for your pet.

I have wondered if CBD treats were okay for dogs. Thanks for the information. My dog has some joint issues so it is an interesting option.

I actually didn't know about this yet, lol when things become like popular, I hate how every body and there brothers gotta jump on the band wagon to make money and it's the new hot thing so you get so many crappy cheaper versions of what has the potential (and is) a very theraputic remedy. Anyways lol I didn't know theyre making pet cbd products, but I am not surprised. If the compay is legit its a great alternative. My dog is very excitable and gets anxiety, hes on a very low dose of prozac , and it does give him comfort that I can notice. Thanks for the education :)
