Molly Mutt Dog Bed Duvet: The Eco-Friendly Bed Your Dog Will Love!

When it comes to snoozin' I can compete with the best of em WOOF! After a long afternoon of playin' outside, it sure feels good to come in and take a long nap! Speakin' of snoozin', my Lady found us a new bed the other day. It is a Molly Mutt Dog Bed Duvet, which is more or less a stuffable dog bed! What do ya know! Them folks must know how much I like my naps cause the bed is even named after me WOOF! That ought to seal the deal on who gets the new bed now shouldn't it?! Yep! You guessed it! I claimed it as mine - ALL MINE!

I'm lovin' my new Molly Mutt Duvet! It smells like my Lady and well, to me, that is best smell in the world. It makes me feel safe and sound like my Lady is right there with me. It's the next best thing to sleepin' with my Lady WOOF! It's special for some other reasons that my Lady will explain to ya. So, let me round her up to tell ya 'bout it. Right now, my eyes are gettin' heavy and I'm ready for my afternoon nap!

When I first learned of the Molly Mutt Dog Bed Duvet, I was truly excited and impressed with whole idea! Seriously! What is not to love? We are firm believers in recycling, upcycling, and eco-friendly products - even for our pets . We also love easy! Anyone not love easy? I didn't think so! But, before I continue, hold that thought and let me tell you how the Molly Mutt Dog Bed Duvet came about!

About Molly Mutt

The co-founder of the Molly Mutt Duvet is Molly - yes, Molly is a person, not a dog! She was living in a small San Francisco apartment on top of one of the city's many hills. Every time her dog beds would get dirty (which was all the time) she had to cart them down one hill and up another to the laundromat and that's when the beds actually survived well enough to not be thrown away. Great workout aside, this became tiresome and she thought there had to be a better way. So she created dog bed duvets!

While we don't have to carry things up or down hills or stairs to wash them, dog beds are a pain to wash! They are big, bulky and cause my machine to go thump and shake like crazy from the dog bed getting unlevel inside. I then have to stop the machine and rearrange the bed in order to stop the shaking. Y'all probably know the drill! So, we were excited to try this new upcycling idea out!

First, I wanted to show you what we chose and then I will tell you more about the bed. While they had a lot of fun prints and designs, I loved the "bleecker street" design duvet print! So, I chose it for the dog bed duvet and I chose the "wild horses" pillow pack to match with it and finally a 'stuff sack'.

How it Works:

For the Molly Mutt Dog Bed Duvet you simply stuff with old clothing, towels, pillows, etc. Your pup can smell 'you' on the bed and what better scent is that to your best friend? They love to snooze on the comfortable bed that smells like their favorite human!

Let's check out how it went for us!

For starters, the Molly Mutt Beds are made from 100% cotton canvas with a zippered opening and we love that they save waste by keeping our stuff out of landfills! We can stuff old t-shirts, sweat shirts, pillows, blankets, etc into it! Getting the Molly Mutt Duvet was just the incentive I needed to tackle cleaning out the closet! Of course I still donate the gently used items, but for the pile of stained, torn clothing and things that are usually dedicated to the trash, it was placed in a pile to be used to stuff the dog bed duvet! Have I said how much I love this idea???

The Molly Mutt Dog Bed Duvet has a zippered opening on one end, making the inside easily accessible. The pillow pack has a zippered opening along the length of it with convenient velcro ends to secure it around the dog bed. The stuff sack also has a zippered opening on the end. So, all parts have zippers and can be maintained separately.

After going through the closets for for old sweat shirts and t-shirts, I also gathered a couple of old pillows and since I had a HUGE bed to fill - I threw in an old comforter that I planned on throwing out. For the pillow pack, I opted to use the stuffing from an old dog bed that the pups had chewed a hole in. Yes, you can use old stuffing too! You can view example stuffing that fits the different size beds but keep in mind that these can always be adjusted to your pups likes and wants.

I love the convenient handle on the end for carrying! It makes it easy to move it from place to place. And, as you can see, Molly was sitting on ready to give it a try! She jumped right in the middle of it and declared it hers!

She scooted around snuggling in different positions. Molly also likes to rest her head on the pillow pack and watch what is happening in the room.

Ozzy caught Molly in another room and quickly took advantage of trying out the Molly Mutt dog bed too! He loves the Molly Mutt Dog Bed Duvet as much as Molly does! But, he should have known better than to get to comfortable!

Molly came back and caught him on the bed! She gave him the stink eye and immediately made it known to him that it was HER bed! She ordered him off with a few stern barks and hard stare! Ozzy being the sweet pup he is, let her have her way.

With her battle with Ozzy won and him off her bed, Molly settled in for a long afternoon nap on her new Molly Mutt Dog Bed!

Our pups are in the range of 75-100+ lbs, so we opted for the huge bed. I must say - huge is HUGE! It is an awesomely huge size that is the perfect fit for my large breed dogs (German Shepherds, Labs, Rotties, etc)! The pups can stretch out comfortably in whatever position they desire to sleep in!

Care of the Molly Mutt Duvet

The material of the Molly Mutt Dog Bed Duvet is very thick and durable! It is also machine washable. All my pups like to circle, dig and arrange before they lay down and the heavy canvas material of the Molly Mutt Dog Bed is standing up to their digging amazingly! The duvet cover can be removed for washing or if the dog bed gets smelly and needs deep cleaning, it is as simple as removing the stuff sack and washing a load of clothes! Simply PAWSOME!
