Ingredients:
1 egg
⅓ cup peanut butter (chunky or creamy) - please make sure it contains NO xylitol - a sugar substitute
1 cup whole wheat flour
½ cup oats
½ cup mashed banana
Directions:
Preheat oven to 300*F.

Combine all ingredients in your mixing bowl. The order doesn't really matter.
Knead dough until a ball forms. Add a little more flour if the dough is sticky.

Flatten the dough on the counter or cutting board, either with your hands or a rolling pin. If the dough is sticky, add a little more flour.
Use some adorable doggie cookie cutters to cut them.
Prepare a cookie sheet by spritzing olive oil on it, or use parchment paper.
Bake at 300*F for about 20 minutes.
This recipe will make a few dozen cookies.
All ingredients are safe for human consumption.
NOTE: Because of the egg, I would not recommend feeding this dough to your pup while it's raw.

Yes, you can, but you will need to adjust the amount. The recipe is very forgiving, and your pups will love them just the same.
Store in an air-tight container on the counter up to 5-7 days. You can also freeze the dough if you do not want to bake them all at once.
+Simple tip for freezing cookie dough- Roll the dough into a tube shape. Freeze and then you can slice off as needed.
I use Minute Oats, but the cookies have a crunchier texture. Rolled oats will give you a more chewy cookie if desired.

How do you store them once you have gave 1 to your dog
Lisa says
My dog loves these!! She stares at me every morning until she gets one.

This recipe was great! The ingredients were common pantry items so I could make this on a whim without any prep-shopping! My corgi loves them and they've held up well in an airtight container for over a week - still moist and not too crumbly. They are pretty good as a human treat too (just not as sweet as we are used to).
Definitely recommend !!

How do you store these
Molly says
You can keep the treats on the counter in a container for 3-5 days. Alternatively, if you think it is more than you can use up, you can freeze the extra dough, thaw later by placing it in the fridge overnight, and bake later 🙂
Ginnene Perry says
@Molly, can you freeze the biscuits when they are cooked? I’ve just made these and they are amazing thank you for the recipe
Diane says
You can! When ready for them just thaw in the fridge or on the counter 🙂

Just finished my second batch, I use app flour and a pinch of cinnamon. I only have holiday shaped cutters, old Kobe hasn’t complained about them. I keep them in the refrigerator. Thank you for the recipe !

I doubled the recipe for Christmas gifts. Using all the right measurements the dough was dry and cracked and couldn’t even get it into a bowl... also as soon as the were baked they broke. Idk what I did wrong
Molly says
It is a dry dough and they bake up crunchy. I am unsure what the issue was. Could it be your bananas were not large enough to provide enough moisture?
Lori says
Can’t wait to give them to my sisters new puppy
Jeannie says
My 2 year old German Shepherd loves these cookies.
So easy to make!
Teresa says
Do they need to be refrigerated because of the egg? If not how long can it stay out
Molly says
You can keep in a cookie jar on the counter for up to 2-3 days but to hold them longer keep in the refrigerator. Since the treats are baked, the egg is not raw and will be fine for this length of time 🙂
