Peanut Butter and Oregano Dog Treats

We had a rainy day the other day and that meant us pups were lazin’ ’round in the house all day. Well, what goes better with layin’ round bein’ lazy than munchin’ on some good homemade dog treats? We went beggin’ to my Lady and like always – we talked her into makin’ us some! We wanted some of those tasty Peanut Butter and Oregano Dog Treats that she makes.

After a few puppy dog looks and some good doggie smooches she agreed to make us some WOOF! I’ll let her tell ya how she makes em!

Peanut Butter and Oregano Dog Treats

When it comes to your dog you want to give them the best. One way we can keep our pets healthy is by serving homemade treats.

These peanut butter and oregano dog treats make for happy healthy dogs!

Oregano is great for your dog because it boosts the immune system, helps fight inflammation and pain and is great for keeping parasites at bay.

Oregano is also a natural antibiotic that will help keep your dogs respiratory and digestive tract healthy. These tasty homemade dog treats are not only good for their health but easy to make.

Peanut Butter and Oregano Dog Treats

Ingredients:

1 cup peanut butter (please verify it does not contain xylitol)
2 cups rolled oats
1/4 cup bacon grease
1 large egg
2 teaspoons of ground oregano leaves

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

In a large bowl mix the peanut butter, rolled oats, bacon grease and egg well.

Add in 2 teaspoons of ground oregano leaves mixing well.

Place onto the center of a wax paper line cookie sheet. Flatten the dough into a flat sheet 1/2 inch thick.

Slice the sheet of dog treats into 1 inch squares and bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes until edges are golden brown.

I was not aware of the benefits of oregano for dogs. These look like a tasty treat that they would enjoy.
