Do you know that a lot of dogs suffer from anxiety? Yep! They do! It's not 'cause they are spoiled. It is a very real problem. I got a touch of it myself when them ole thunderstorms roll in, but them two youngin's here have a bad case of it! It ain't only durin' storms! They are so attached to my Lady that if'n she leaves for only a few minutes, they lose their minds. After the howlin' stops, Ozzy and Brandi start tearin' the house down - literally! I try and tell em to calm down, but it don't do no good. Well, the other day, my Lady got some Petsafe Busy Buddy Chamomile-Scented calming toys to see if that would help em with their anxiety.

I'm sure proud she got em, cause them pups were startin' to give me some serious anxiety WOOF! Lemme round up my Lady to tell ya 'bout em!
Here's what my Lady had to say about the Petsafe Busy Buddy Chamomile-Scented Calming Toys
Miss Molly wasn't exaggerating! Ozzy and Brandi have never been away from me for long at a time. They are bottle fed babies and now at 4 years old - well, I am truly their Mom! Since I am always home, they think life is ending if I need to leave even for short trips to the store! I have literally came home to blinds torn down, chewed up items and dogs that have worked themselves into a severe anxiety attack! I could go on and on with things that cause anxiety for my pups, such as thunderstorms, firecrackers etc.

Why use PetSafe Busy Buddy Chamomile-Scented Calming Toys
When I heard about these Petsafe Busy Buddy Chamomile-Scented Calming Toys, I wanted to give them a try. I loved the thought of the chamomile scent, as I know chamomile is known to help humans relax! The Petsafe Busy Buddy toys not only have the relaxing scent of chamomile, but are also treat dispensing toys.
The Busy Buddy Calming Toys are designed to help with separation anxiety and stress. The rubber they are made of is chamomile-scented, which helps them relax. Meanwhile, the toys will also hold yummy treats to give them something to do to take their mind off of worrying. And, if you have a heavy duty chewer, the Squirrel Dude is perfect! Plus, he has a fun funky bounce to keep dogs playing longer.

How to use PetSafe Busy Buddy Toys
My dogs love when I load Busy Buddy toys with treats or kibble. I prefer to use kibble with a few treats mixed in because I don't want them having that many treats at one time. However, the pack's favorite way to enjoy the Petsafe Busy Buddy toys is when I load them with peanut butter! If using peanut butter, please make sure it does not contain xylitol!
One of the ways I use the Petsafe Busy Buddies is loading them with peanut butter with kibble mixed in. Then, I freeze them! Yep! You read that right! It makes the peanut butter and treats last a lot longer and, at the same time, keeps them occupied longer. In turn, this takes their mind off of me not being with them. They are to busy trying to get the peanut butter licked out to engage in other destructive behaviors!

Great for Reducing Anxiety and/or a fun Meal Time Puzzle
These fun puzzle toys are great for reducing anxiety, but they can also be used to feed their meals! Just load them up with their food and allow them to work for their meal. It is a great way to enrich their minds and give them an activity to do! Again, my pups love doing this! While I don't do it everyday or every meal, it provides a great change of pace for them and gives them an enriching activity to do!
If you want to use them for meal time, or feel that the treats/kibble doesn't dispense fast enough you can can trim the Treat Meter prongs. Just be warned that you need to trim a little at a time because once the prongs are cut, there's no going back!

Ozzy and Brandi enjoy their Busy Buddy toys any time! They love having them outside on the porch while watching the world go by.

However, when we move inside, they want their Busy Buddy toys to come with them. With their Busy Buddy in tow, they each crawl upon a dog bed for a few more licks and chews before afternoon nap time.
PetSafe Busy Buddy Chamomile-Scented Calming Toys features:
- Patented Treat Meter randomly dispenses treats
- 2 durable food/treat-dispensing chew toys
- Training and behavior advice from professional dog trainers included
- Great for thunderstorms, fireworks, vet visits, barking, and separation anxiety
- Dishwasher safe, top rack only
Miss Molly and the pack, especially the pups - Ozzy and Brandi, LOVE the Petsafe Busy Buddy Calming Toys and give them an all paws up! When given a choice of toys, they prefer their Busy Buddy toys! I am pleased as a dog Mom because my pack are very large dogs and all heavy chewers. Toys usually don't last long with them. However, with the Busy Buddy toys, they are more interested in "what" is in it and have yet to destroy the toy! With that said, please supervise your dog until you are assured they will not try to eat the toy, before leaving them home alone with them.
The Petsafe Busy Buddy Calming Toys do help with their anxiety, but they are not a cure-all. The Busy Buddy toys give them something to do to take their mind off of me being gone and the scent helps them relax to a degree. While the pups still express high anxiety if I leave the house, they have been much calmer while I am gone. When I return, I can tell they have been busily licking and getting the kibble from their toys rather than tearing my blinds down!

Oh these sound wonderful! I have a new Puppy and I am Home most all of the time too, so when I leave He really howls and howls, the first time that I left Him at Home He destroyed my Jewelry Box and ate or destroyed most of my Jewelry, lucky for Him He was okay after that, I gave Him a lot of Bread to hopefully make the Jewelry go through okay, I am not sure what He has eaten since then, He chews on Sticks and Plastic and everything that He can get a hold of. But He is fine thank God. I have had to take Him into the Emergency Vet Twice because He has eaten something that was bad for Him, two Weekends in a row, the first time He got a hold of some of my Medication and the second He chewed up some Batteries that He got out of a Remote Control, I think that these would really help to calm Him!
Thanks for the review, I will check into getting some of these for Him!

This sounds very interesting. My younger dog is just high strung and a bit anxious in general. Not nervous, but always alert and ready to react. He's also high energy, and Kongs are lifesavers here to keep him occupied and relaxed. I like this calming idea even better. Would love to give it a try!
