Hey, you humanz don’t want chicken every night, right? If your pooch looks at his dinner bowl and back at you, he is probably sayin’, “What, this again?” Sometimes you humanz get in a rut with our dog food, especially if ya use the stuff in a bag or can. Ever notice that some of the dog food cans that come in them cardboard boxes say “variety”? There’s a reason for that! Hello human! WOOF! Is your pooch bored with dinner? Lemme get my Lady to tell ya a few ways you can spice up your pooch’s dinner!
Is Pooch Bored with Dinner? Tingle our Taste Buds!
I’m not saying that you have to buy tons a different tasting things, but there are a few ways you can spice up their dinner and give it a different taste or texture. The great thing is, you can get it right out of the kitchen or pantry! Here are a few things to add to your dog’s food that will taste great and be healthy for them.
Peanut Butter
Most dog LOVE peanut butter and this is yummy if you feed canned food! Just stir in a teaspoon or so and watch them go after it! **MAKE SURE IT DOES NOT CONTAIN XYLITOL!
Cauliflower
That boring old mushy canned food gets old after a while! Who don’t like a good crunch once in a while? Chop raw cauliflower up in a blender and add a bit to the soft food. If you have cooked cauliflower, you can mush that up too and add it – just make sure you haven’t added salt or spices!
Green Beans
My pups LOVE green beans! Some pups love them and some don’t, so you will have to ask your pup 🙂 Just open a can of French cut ones (no salt please) and scoop some out onto a plate. Squish them up with a fork if you need to or my pups like them as is. You can chop a whole can and keep in the fridge so it’s easy to add a spoon or so!
Sweet Potatoes
Sweet potatoes are yummy and so good for us and them! You can boil one up or simply place in the microwave to cook. Allow it to cool down and chop into small pieces. When supper time rolls around, add some and watch them chow down!
There are a lot of things that we like as humans that are safe for our critters and they will enjoy the slightly different taste or texture. We would get really bored with the same old food every night and so do they! So, if your pup is bored with dinner, try spicing it up a bit! When adding human foods to the their food, remember to add just a small amount! You don’t want to cause an upset tummy or an allergic reaction!
Always do your research and make sure the “people food” you want to add is safe for pets and contains no xylitol or spices! There are several garden vegetables that are safe for our dogs and are perfect additions for taste and texture!
Does your pup have a favorite vegetable or food addition? We would love to know so we can try it too!

Thats so cool never would have thought about adding veggies to their food. And I should have my cats loved campbells beef and veggie soup. If I had a bowl they had to have one and they would clean ever drop and veggies up.

My sister is always telling about what her dog likes for vegetables, but I don't think she's tried a couple of these ideas. I have to share!
