We’ve been beggin’ my Lady for some homemade dog treats. She’s been mighty busy lately and kept on tellin’ us when she had a chance she would cook us up some. Well, that day finally got here WOOF! We were all a sniffin’ the air and waitin’ in the kitchen for them home baked goodies to come out that big hot box that cooks em. This time we got to have Pumpkin and Peanut Butter Dog Treats!
When they finally got cooked, we were left coolin’ our heels while they cooled down a bit.
All that waitin’ just made my mouth water somethin’ fierce!
Finally, my Lady called treat time and we were all so excited we could hardly sit still.
Them pups were a pushin’ and shovin’ tryin’ to be first in line.
Someday they’ll learn ain’t nobody gettin’ one til everyone sits calmly! Young whippersnappers!
I thought I was gonna die from waitin’ WOOF!
Them pups finally got the hint and my Lady started passin’ em out.
When she handed me mine, I know my eyes were big as golf balls and I was a droolin’ like a mad dog. Boy howdy!
I guess it has been a while since we had homemade treats, but those Pumpkin and Peanut Butter Dog Treats were the best tastin’ treats ever, well besides my favorite Oatmeal, Peanut Butter & Banana treats! And, she even let us have 2 each WOOF!
Lemme fetch my Lady so she can tell ya how to make em!
Pumpkin and Peanut Butter Dog Treats
The pups are crazy about these tasty Pumpkin and Peanut Butter dog treats!
It is another one of their favorites and they are always excited for them.
The recipe is super easy to make and only requires 3 ingredients!
Ingredients:
1 cup Pumpkin Puree
1/2 cup All Natural Peanut Butter (please make sure it does not contain xylitol)
1 3/4 cup Whole Wheat Flour
(Will need parchment paper; I only say this because sometimes I don’t always have this on hand!)
How to make these tasty dog treats:
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Line cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Combine ingredients in a bowl and mix until it’s clumpy and not sticky.
I used my hands to make sure the dough was well combined and no dry ingredients were left out.
Lay down a sheet of parchment paper on your work surface and place the dough on the parchment sheet.
Lay another sheet of parchment paper over the dough and use a rolling pin to roll dough to 1/4 inch thick.
Once it is to your thickness liking, peel off the top parchment paper.
Use your desired cookie cutter to start cutting out the treats.
Place on your lined baking sheet.
Bake for 8-10 minutes at 350 F.
Let cool completely.
Store in an airtight container or in the freezer for up to 3 months.

I am going to have to pick up whole wheat flour, my son would enjoy making these for our dog this weekend.

My doggers love peanut butter! This recipe looks easy and delish!
Is there something I can use instead of whole wheat flour? My German Shepherds have terrible wheat and corn allergies.
Thank you
Hum. I’m not sure. I’ve never made it any other way.
I’ve used gluten free flours ( a mix of rice and potato flour I think). It came out a little sticky, but the dogs loved them!
We used homemade oat flour 2c instead of 1 3/4
I made these for my dog, and he loved them. I made two batches, one exactly how the recipe says and I added some leftover bacon to the other. I used oatmeal flour instead of whole wheat. I like to know what is in my dogs food since he has major allergies. This recipe was really easy to make as well.
This seems like a combination any dog would love!
Hello there!! My pup loves these!! I was wondering however, if they were meant to be soft?? If so is there a way to make them harder?
To make them harder, add a bit more flour and bake just a little longer 🙂
This was easy and fun to make!
I just made these and used my Kitchen Aid mixer to mix the ingredients and it came out nice and smooth, no clumps, etc. I used large cookie cutters so only got about a dozen treats but that’s ok as long as my dogs like them the recipe is so easy I will just make them again..
My baby Nia received these as a Christmas gift from one of her friends and she just loved them!!
My husband liked them too. He says if he cannot have it then neither can she. He has us all on a very healthy diet.
With 3 masters in Animal Science we tend to listen.
I tried this and OMG not only did my 3 teacup chihuahuas Love them which they are very picky but my friends golden Lab who was the most gentless eater almost took my fingers off. Everyday he would look at me when he saw me and give me a look like hey I know you got some good stuff…. LOL I am making them again.
Boxers are very gassy and whole wheat flour seems to make them more so. Can all purpose flour be used?
Super easy and fun! Question…should they be crunchy when done or still kind of soft?
I just took a double batch out of the oven and my dogs are on top of me waiting for them to cool. I’ve made homemade treats for them before but hadn’t thought of using pumpkin until I found your recipe. Thanks for sharing!
This looks great! Perfect for fall! It would be fun to make with kids!
Thanks for sharing! They have great freezer life too, so you could make a bigger batch!
Can I use regular flour?
I have a can of pumpkin waiting for this recipe!
I made one and a half times the recipe and they filled my dog bone and dog paw silicone molds with almost nothing left over. My dogs loved them. Will definitely make again.
I’ve been making these since last week, and our dogs love them!! Such a nice, simple list of ingredients. Thank you! I’m sharing this post with other pet sitters and dog walkers!
Hey there? Do these have to be refrigerated or is an air tight container sufficient? I’d like to give as christmas gifts without having to worry about how people are storing them. Thank you!
Simple ingredients. . Thanks for sharing.
My puppy Holly loves them. I cut them and use them for training treats.
My “Tonka Toy” loves these treats! She nudges me every time I get them out.
I made these three days ago. They were very easy to make very cute and my dog loves them however, I put them in a glass jar as shown in one of the pictures and by day three they are growing mold all over them! Should I store them differently? I would upload a picture if I could figure out how
I keep my jar in the refrigerator and they will last a few days up to a week. You can also freeze them and then thaw as needed.
The girls love these treats fresh out the oven. Great treats n love all natural ingredients. I am putting half in the freezer n the other half in their cookie jar. How long can these stay out before they go bad?
I’ve always been scared to make home treats but this looks really good and simple
My dog likes these a lot!
My dogs love these n for myself not bad either
Are they supposed to be chewy or Chrurch?! 🤷🏻♀️
For the most part, crunchy. However, by watching how long you cook them, you can make them soft. The treats are not chewy though.
I know Sorcha will really love these, thanks for sharing.
I’m so happy I found this and that you put pet recipes up. Thank you. I live these too their all stuff they love.
Made these today really easy recipe my dogs love them !

I always use this recipie when making my pup treats. My dog has a list of food allergies and this is perfect with just 3 ingredients. If I don’t have pumpkin, I use mashed sweet potatoes. It works just as well. Thank you for the recipie
