You probably celebrate birthdays for your children and other members of the family. Your dog is also a member of the family and deserves a celebration like a puppy party too!
If you have done any research on how dogs age, then you know that they age a bit faster than people at a rate of seven years in human years compared to one in dog years.
By the time the dog is two, he’s a teenager.
Enjoy time celebrating another year that you have with your furry friend in a few fun ways.
Puppy Party: 3 Ideas To Celebrate Your Furbaby’s Birthday
Food And Drinks
Whether it’s just a small family gathering or a party with your friends and their dogs, you want to provide plenty to drink and food to eat.
Offer a few different types of dog treats and foods as some dogs might have a sensitive stomach. Your pup will surely love a tasty doggie pupcake!
Set up a few large bowls with water so that all of the dogs have something to drink.
No party is complete without a cake.
You can make your own cake with dog bones or have a pet bakery make a cake using ingredients that are safe for dogs to enjoy.
Another idea is to make dog treats using peanut butter and other items that are easy to digest.
Fun And Games
After the dogs have enjoyed their treats, they’re going to have some energy to burn off.
Set up an obstacle course or two for them to enjoy.
A photo booth is another idea.
Owners and their dogs can take pictures together, and you can also take a fun picture of the dogs as a way to say thank you for them coming to celebrate.
You might need an extension cord or two for lighting or other extras that are needed for the event, which you can get from companies like Americord.
Hide-and-seek games with treats are another way for dogs to have fun at the party.
Water Fun
If you’re celebrating in the summer, then combine a love of water with a birthday party.
Set up a few kiddie pools that the dogs can splash around in, or let them play in a larger pool if you have one set up in the yard.
If you don’t have a pool, then see if there is a family member or friend who would be willing to let you use the pool in exchange for you cleaning it afterward.
With the heat of the summer, dogs will usually enjoy playing in any amount of water they can get.
Your dog is a member of the family.
Even if it’s just a small celebration with a cake made of treats, it’s a way to show that you love having him in the home.
Complete the party with a few gifts that he can enjoy after the celebration is over.
