There’s lots of stuff in my Lady’s kitchen that’s good for more than just humanz. Some of them there cans and jars can make us dogs feel purty good too. She gots this big ole jar of Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil and us critters like that stuff to, so I am gettin’ her to share it with the whole pack!
You humanz use that stuff for cookin’ and even spreadin’ it on breads and stuff. I even seen some use it to rub on their ole dry skin. Well us dogs can use some of that same treatment! And it’s all natural, ‘stead of some of that other yucky stuff ya buy at the store place that’s got them there chemicals in it.
Uses of Coconut Oil for Dogs
You can use coconut oil on our insides and our outsides for lots a things, but you gotta learn some rules first! Here I will tell ya about some of them:
Insides:
Dogs got to have somethin’ called healthy fats in our food. This Coconut Oil is loaded with em. It will help keep our skin and coat all purty by workin’ from the inside out. It’s also good for our tummies and helps the food get used up and shoved out. My Lady says this is the digestive and bowels, so I reckon she knows more than me bout that!
Don’t let us gobble a big old glob though! That will really upset our tummies and make us sick. Tiny amounts til we get used to it are what you’re s’posed to do. I guess you gots to weigh yer critter first, cause you’re only gonna start out with a fourth of a teaspoon and then build up, but don’t give em no more than one teaspoon for every 10 pounds, no matter how much they like it!
Outsides:
Me and the pack, we get these itches from dry skin and stuff. If a stray skeeter or flea bites us, it can drive a critter crazy. Our humanz can rub some coconut oil on it and it really feels good. Plus, if we lick cause it tastes good, it aint gonna hurt us none. My Lady says it has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties too. I ain’t knowin’ what that means for sure, but it’s gotta be a good thing, right?
And if our feet pads get hurt or cracked from dryin’ out…rubbing this stuff on there is just the ticket to make our feet feel better, plus it tickles and we like that! Listen! There is just tons and tons a things you can use this for, stead of just in yer own kitchen.
We like tellin’ you bout all this stuff, but it’s up to you to do yer readin’ and decide if it’s somethin’ you want to use! Here is some big old information if’n you want to read more! Healthy benefits of Coconut Oil in Dogs Naturally magazine.

My dogs like to eat it too! I really should give it to them more often. I am also going to try to rub it on their paw pads to make them softer. Thanks for the article!
