Sometimes us pups get a bit bent outta shape! Them ole thunderstorms roll in or we have to go see the lady in the white coat can make us get all jittery in nerves! And, should I mention fireworks?! Even I quiver and shake! Not quite sure why those humans think they got to blow things up, but their noises make us pups on the wild side! Well, during these times, my Lady has a DIY Dog Calming Spray that she uses!
She puts it on our bandanas and sprays our beds with it. Now, I'm not too spiffy on this and I ain't even gonna claim to know how it works, but it sure makes me feel better!
I'll go get my Lady to tell you about it and how to make some for your pup!
Here's my Lady...

Poor Miss Molly! Truth be known, all my pups get super anxious with loud noises and when they have to see the vet!
However, I don't like giving them medication and was looking for natural solutions.
I love essential oils and finally landed on this great all-natural spray using essential oils for pets.
This calming spray is safe for dogs, but remember to only apply to the bandana and their bedding - do not apply directly to your pet!
Check out how easy it is to make below!
Calming Spray for Dogs
Each oil has calming properties and combined will hopefully help their nervousness.
Plant essential oils offer a powerful, natural alternative to calm dogs who may suffer from separation anxiety, fear of loud noises, or other forms of anxiety.
By using a combination of essential oils such as lavender and chamomile, you can create a calming aromatherapy blend to help your pet relax in times of stress or fear.
When used with supportive measures such as desensitization, behavior modification, obedience training, and physical exercise, essential oil blends can be extremely effective in calming a frightened dog.
Let's move on to the simple and soothing homemade calming spray.

My little boy gets freaked out easily. If you think about it, this actually makes sense. Putting it on a bandana is a great idea, assuming that putting a bandana on doesn't frighten your dog. I can't get any articles of clothing on my boy without him going berserk.

I have to try this. I have a pug/toy poodle mix that gets so anxious esp during thunder storms.

My cat gets scared of a lot of things, sometimes for no reason, wonder if there's a calm spray for cats.

Will this work for cats too? I could put the essential oils on my hands and rub him when the lawn is going to be mowed, or there is a storm, or the worst-when he is going to the vet. Have you tried it on cats? Thanks.
