So the other day was my sister Maggie's birthday. She's ahead of me but some day I'm gonna catch up - I think! WOOF! Anyway, it was a special day. My Lady said she was gonna make us some an extra special doggie treat to celebrate with. She calls them Doggie Pupcakes with Peanut Butter and Banana!
Yep! You read that right!
These dog-friendly cupcakes are our pup's version of your human cupcakes only with dog-friendly ingredients!
They look like real cupcakes and even have a Milk-Bone that adds a bit of crunchy goodness to it.
And, of course, the cupcakes have a candle to make a wish on WOOF!

Doggie Pupcakes are made with peanut butter and banana and they even have icin'! WOOF!
That's some WOOFALICIOUS eatin' right there!
But, before you get too excited, the icin' ain't full of sugar like you humans use.
It is made from some tasty Neufchatel cheese and more creamy peanut butter.
For us pups, all that yummy cheese and peanut butter sure make our mouths water!
I just know your pups would love a Doggie Pupcake too!
Tell your human that Miss Molly said they are easy to make WOOF!
Now, let me fetch my Lady to tell ya how to make these easy cupcakes for dogs!
Doggie Pupcakes with Peanut Butter and Banana
Yields: 15-18 pupcakes
Ingredients needed:
For the Pupcake:
½ cup creamy peanut butter (I use natural peanut butter - no Xylitol please!)
½ cup vegetable oil
2 medium bananas *If I made these again I would use over-ripe bananas*
⅔ cup honey
2 eggs
2 cups whole wheat flour
2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
For the Creamy Frosting:
4 oz Neufchatel cheese, softened (⅓ less fat cream cheese spread)
½ cup creamy peanut butter
1 T milk
How to make these woofalicious Doggie Pupcakes:
Preheat oven to 350 F
Line your muffin tin with cupcake liners.

In a bowl, combine peanut butter, oil, bananas, honey, and eggs. Mix until smooth.

In another bowl combine flour, baking soda, and baking powder.

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring as you go until all ingredients are well combined.

Spoon mixture into paper liners. Fill about ⅔ full.
Bake for 18-20 minutes at 350 F (baking time may vary according to ovens).
While cupcakes are baking you can make your frosting.
Once the cupcakes are done baking, place them on a wire rack until cooled.

Using an electric mixer beat the Neufchatel cheese and peanut butter for about 10 seconds.

Add in your milk and beat until it's a creamy consistency (not runny).

Once your pupcakes have cooled, spread or pipe the frosting on top.
Add a candle!

If it is an extra special occasion, you can even add in a Milkbone for the perfect treat!!
Notes: Store in an air-tight container in the refrigerator.

Let your pup enjoy!
Maggie enjoyed her Doggy Cupcakes and a day outside in the sun for her birthday!
