If there is one thing my pups love it is homemade dog treats.
They can’t seem to get enough of them and I can’t resist spoiling them!
On top of that, homemade treats are healthier than store-bought treats.
You always know every ingredient that goes in – none of that yucky chemical stuff!
These Carrot Dog Treats are made with – you guessed it – carrots, for starters 🙂
Then, we added creamy smooth low-fat yogurt and yummy sweet potato apple pumpkin baby food to give it a tasty flavor.
I can only assume the pups thought they were delicious as they scarfed them down and then begged for more!

Healthy Carrot Dog Treats Recipe
Ingredients needed:
½ cup ground dog food pieces
2 cups grated carrots
½ cups plain low-fat yogurt
4 oz sweet potato apple pumpkin baby food
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking powder

Medium bowl
Mixer
Cookie cutters
Rolling pin
Cookie sheets
Cooling racks
How to make these healthy Carrot Dog Treats:
Grind the dog food into flour consistency in a food processor or blender.
Mix dog food, carrots, yogurt, and baby food in a medium size bowl.
Add the flour and the baking powder, mix well.
Take a ball of dough and place on flat, floured surface. Roll the dough out to approximately ¼ inch thick.
Use cookie/fondant cutters to cut out shapes. Place on cookie sheets.
Bake 350 degrees for 15 minutes, flip over bake for another 15 minutes.
Place on cooling rack to cool.
Store in an airtight container.
Tips:
Uses about 2/3 of a bag of baby carrots.
Roll dough out on parchment paper for easier clean up.
