This week we made fun and tasty Homemade Banana and Peanut Butter Dog Treats in star shapes using a fun cookie cutter!

It is so funny because I really believe they understand when I tell them I am baking them up something good.
Their ears prick up and they hang out close to the kitchen while the treats are baking.
Once they come out of the oven, you can see the drooling begin!

Banana and Peanut Butter Dog Treats Recipe
Now, let's check out how easy this treat recipe is to make!
You only need 4 ingredients to make these yummy dog treats AND can make them in less than 30 minutes!
Ingredients:
1 small mashed banana
½ Cup peanut butter (please make sure it is xylitol free! I use all-natural peanut butter)
⅓ Cup beef broth
1 Cup wheat flour
Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350° and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large mixing bowl, mix your mashed banana, peanut butter, beef broth, and a ⅓ cup of flour at a time until well mixed.
3. Use a spatula to take all your dough out of your bowl and form into a large dough ball with your hands.
4. Roll your dough out with a rolling pin and use a star cookie cutter to cut out your star-shaped dough.
5. Bake your star dog biscuits on your parchment paper-lined baking sheet for about 16-18 minutes, depending on how thick your dough is.
6. Let them cool on a wire rack and give one to your happy pup!

Storing Homemade Dog Treats: To keep homemade dog treats fresh, proper storage is crucial. At room temperature, they can last up to 5 days in an airtight container. For longer storage, we recommend refrigerating them for about a week (7 days). Freezing them is recommended for even longer storage, as they can last for 6 months or more in the freezer.
Flour Substitutions: This recipe calls for wheat flour however it is perfectly fine, and will come out the same if you substitute with all-purpose or gluten-free flour.
When rolling and cutting: Use extra flour on the counter or cutting board and your cookie cutters to keep the dough from sticking.
Cutting the Cookies: While we used a star-shaped cookie cutter feel free to use any shape you have or like. Bone shapes are always fun! You can also use a knife and slice them into small squares or other shapes. We promise your pooch is not going to care 🙂
