I have heard my Lady complain about dry sand-papery skin on her paws before, but she ain’t the only one with the problem! Us pups, would win that comparison for sure. Have ya every thought about it? We don’t wear shoes, or at least most of us don’t. The little munchkin of a sister does have some winter boots WOOF! But, back to what I was a sayin’. Walkin’ ’round on bare paws all the time causes our paws to get dried out, rough, and sometimes even crack open! Talk about hurtin’! My Lady has found us a solution called Kelp Balm from Kelp Dog to help us whip em back into shape!
I don’t know much about it, other than it’s right nice havin’ her rub my paws. It’s like gettin’ a nice paw massage WOOF! It’s also nice that my Lady don’t cringe when we snuggle up with her! She use to complain that our paws scratched her. Anyway, lemme round up my Lady tell ya ’bout this pawsome Kelp Balm!
Here’s what my Lady says about the all natural Kelp Balm:
The pups have all grown up now, with the youngest being 4 years old. It only seems like yesterday they were babies and getting into everything. I can still remember their cute little pink pads on the bottom of their paws. They were velvety smooth. Maybe it’s just me, but there is nothing cuter than little pink pads of puppy paws!
These days, those same cute little pads are huge bear claws that are dry and feel like course sand paper! Believe me! You know when one rubs across your skin! I was excited to find out about Kelp Balm! This unique all natural balm from Kelp Dog is made of natural products and is perfect for their paw pads! But, that’s not all it is good for. Before, I tell you about Kelp Balm’s many uses, let me tell you a little about Kelp Dogs and their all natural products.
About Kelp Dog
Your dog’s health and vitality is very important to Kelp Dog. Our furry companions are never with us long enough, so Kelp Dog wants to ensure that they live a quality life. As dog owners themselves, they are concerned with the increasing recalls from what used to be reputable and trusted companies. Their approach is to get back to basics and provide products with fewer ingredients that can be pronounced and understood.
Kelp Dog wants to provide more holistic solutions to dogs and their owners to help reduce the over prescribing of commercial medications.
Kelp Balm is the Perfect Natural Moisturizer
Dog paws are the worst for drying and cracking. It is hard to keep them moisturized. Once they become dry, there is a danger of them cracking. Dry, cracked paw pads are very painful! But, I have found a great all natural solution for dry paw pads – Kelp Balm! I love this stuff! It has a smooth silky feel to it and isn’t greasy at all. That was one of my first thoughts before trying it. I can only imagine my pack with greased up paws tracking up the floor! My worries were for nothing! This amazing balm absorbs quickly, without the mess, and leaves their paw pad feeling amazingly smooth. It took a few uses to get them into shape, but now with regular use their paw pads feel pawsome!
And their snouts! If I were to ask them how their snout gets in the shape it does, they would look at me with innocent looks. Truth be know, it is probably due to all that digging they aren’t suppose to be doing! If you notice, Ozzy is wearing a spot of dirt right now. You can’t run from the evidence right? However, the dirt will wash off, but their noses seem to be the second worst spot for drying out. Kelp Balm to the rescue! With Kelp Balms, natural Shea & Aloe butters moisturizes it quickly absorbs nutrients and minerals into their skin leaving their snout smooth and soft.
Poor Ozzy! He missed a step today coming up on the back porch and hit the top of his foot. It is a minor scrape and he is none the worse for it. We will give it a little extra attention with the Kelp Balm. In addition to being a great moisturizer, Kelp Balm is great for minor scrapes and abrasions! Kelp Balm includes a special blend of pure therapeutic grade essential oils and naturally healing elements. For scrapes, just smooth it on and it creates a protective barrier without a greasy feel.

Kelp Lip Balm for Humans!
While the pups have been enjoying their Kelp Balm, I have been enjoying the Kelp Lip Balm! I think my lips are equivalent to their paws when it comes to trying to keep them moisturized. Maybe I lick my lips to much, or who knows, but my lips are always dry and chapped. I love the all-natural ingredients of Kelp Lip Balm. It also has natural SPF protection infused with pure wild Kelp to add nutrients.
The bottom line is Kelp Lip Balm works! It glides on smooth and leaves your lips feeling amazing! I also love the little hint of peppermint!

I see lots of products for healing wounds and cracks on dog pads, but my dog’s pads are just rough, not cut or broken. Would love to give this a try.
It’s great that this balm works so well. I will consider getting some for my dogs paws.
The lip balm sounds awesome especially with winter around the corner and Prissy Missy Layla needs the balm for her pawsies 🙂
This stuff looks great! I wonder if it would work on my dog babies?
This sounds like a good product to help those rough patches on the dog paws and nose.
WOW … What a GREAT idea for dogs…
I’ll be checking with our vet about this balm. Glacier and Lily get very dry paw pads in our cold winters. I didn’t know there was a product like this. thanks!
(Kelp Balm is the Perfect All Natural Product for Dry Paws, Snout, Minor Abrasions & More!) Wow! I didn’t even know that there was such a neat product for using on a dogs paws. My son who has a new border collie puppy will find this very interesting.
I realize it’s important to keep a dog’s nose and paws healthy, and – especially as they age – it can be hard to do so. This product sounds like it would be great for my pack. I have three rescued Treeing Walker Coonhounds, Kenji, Kyoko, and Seiji. They are all in the 6-8 year-old range and I mostly walk them in our subdivision, which has them on cement sidewalks, which are hard on their pads. We live just outside of Chicago, so you can just imagine how cold and windy it can get here in winter, and I worry about their noses and pads with the extreme weather. Summers are hot and humid, but the sun can be very drying on their noses. Seiji is a mixed breed – mostly Coonhound, but whatever he has in him gave him a lighter-colored nose, which I worry about more than the others, since dogs CAN get sunburn.
I love that it works for bug bites! Thanks for sharing.
I did not know the many, many uses for this product! I am so very happy to have been introduced to it! Thank you.
There are so many uses for the Kelp! It’s nice to know that it’s all natural too! Our dog is older and is poor paws are always really dry. It’s icy in the winter and the heat from the pavement in the summer is so hot. I’m sure he’s reallt enjoy us using this on him!!!
This sounds like such a great product. I sometimes put Kelp powder in the dog food that I make. My senior rescue Monty still has some cracks in his paws.
my dogs would love to use this for the winter and i use and then i like the the stuff
and t hen they are good for the dogs
We sometimes forget how fragile our dogs paw pads are. I am always careful about the hot sidewalks in the summer. If it’s too hot for me…it is for him too.
This would be great for our pups! Their paw pads get rough, especially during the nice weather when we go on walks more frequently.
I think that it is so wonderful that people care for their dogs enough to create products like this!
I didn’t even know paw pads could crack. ;x
Awww I had a black lab, Shyla, and I miss her so much even to this day. Her paws would get sooooo dry! Now my the two fur babies that are a part of our family get walked everyday on asphalt (when it is cool enough for their paws) so, their paws are also very dry. I never thought about balm I admit and loving the ingredient listing on this one. Thank you!
Thanks for the review this product sounds amazing
Very useful natural product, can help cat paws too.
