At our house, us pups study food, treats, naps, and play time. Yea buddy! We’re livin’ the high life! Chow time takes a while at our house though. All of us have to eat and drink, then my Lady has to do that thing called cleanin’. Them pups, especially my brothers are messy eaters! They have food all over the house. Yep, we had one Neater Feeder. But, with 7 of us big pups, we got to shovin’ and pushin’ each other.

7 dogs just wasn’t fittin’ one feeder! So, we were back to extra bowls for food and water and my Lady a fussin’ ’bout the mess.

As y’all know, we have 7 dogs in my home.

Feeding time can be a messy time with crumbs and food scattered all around the bowls and in the room.

The crumbs then get tracked all over the house. The water! Let’s talk about the water!

7 dogs drinking and 7 dogs dribbling equals one wet floor!

Then, there are the really bad times when they are roughhousing and knock the bowl over.

Or, with the water bowl being in the kitchen, it is constantly getting kicked and turned over.

I feel like I spend more than half my time cleaning up food and water!

Back when I got the other Neater Feeder they were just puppies and the older dogs more or less took over the other Neater Feeder, leaving them to use the regular bowls on the floor.

We have the Large Neater Feeder with Leg Extensions, which fits dogs 35-100+ lbs with a shoulder height of up to 20+”.

The Large Neater feeder also comes with 7 cup standard food bowl and one 9 cup extra capacity water bowl.

This size generally fits dogs such as German Shepherds, Labs, Golden Retrievers, etc.

I have the food and water reversed in the bowls on purpose.

While the larger bowl is for water, I use it for food.

During feeding times, I have more than one dog eating at a time and it works better this way.

Once they have eaten their breakfast, I actually use both sides for water during the rest of the day until it is time for their night time feeding.

It’s just a little trick for managing with a house full of dogs 🙂

The kicking of the bowls is a familiar sight in my home!

If we weren’t accidentally kicking the bowls, then the dogs would run into them while playing.

Recommended Cleaning for the Neater Feeder

One word of experience here!

The bottom reservoir needs to be emptied, rinsed, and dried on a regular basis!

I empty, and clean, ours every 3-5 days.

If you don’t, the spilled water that has drained into it can become very nasty and smelly!

The Neater Feeder Mess Proof Pet Feeding System comes in large, medium, and small.

They also have a size specifically for cats. When considering the size, the most important factors are your pet’s height and the bowl size.

For homes with more than one cat, the small dog Neater Feeder would be the best choice.

It is the same size and height of the cat model, but has deeper bowls.

You also have a choice of either Cranberry or Bronze color to better fit with your decor.

We LOVE the leg extensions for our large dogs!

They help raise the feeder up to a more appropriate level for their large size.

The Neater Feeder also comes with non-skid feet that can be used on the regular feeder or the leg extensions.

After Brandi finished drinking, you can see what is left behind.

While the Neater Feeder is great for catching these dribbles and spilled water, it has done nothing for Ozzy’s habit of sticking his whole nose in the water and carrying it with him as he goes.

That’s another story.

I just don’t want you to think that the Neater Feeder would solve that problem.
