WOOF! We got another goodie bag from Chewy.com the other day! Normally, we get dog treats in them packages they send us, but this time it was some Orijen Freeze-Dried Dog Food. I don’t know much, or anything, about kinds of food or what’s in em, but I liked it!!!
MyLady said we could all have a little bite of it, but it was mostly for my sister Sallie. She’s been havin’ some bad allergy problems. They’ve been tryin’ to watch what’s in her food. Heck,I don’t even know what that means, I just eats it! So, I better let my Lady do the tellin’ of this!
Here’s what my Lady says about the Orijen’s Freeze-Dried Dog Food
First, I would like to say I was more than welcome to try out the Orijen Freeze-Dried Food! We love the Orijen brand products! Their products are always of the highest quality! Miss Molly is right in that I was thinking of Sallie. She has been having a terrible time with skin allergies and it is coming down to being allergic to something in her food. To solve all the digging, scratching and digestive issues we have started trying to find an alternative food for her. The Orijen Freeze-Dried Dog Food is low glycemic, grain-free and gluten free! If it passed her taste test, it sounded like the perfect food for her.
Out of the flavors available, I chose the Orijen Regional Red Grain-Free Dry Dog Food for her. It contains free-range red meats, wild boar, beef, lamb, heritage pork and bison, plus wild-caught fish from Canada’s northern lakes and cool Pacific Ocean, as well as regional fruits and vegetables.
The benefits of Orijen Freeze-Dried Dog Food are:
- 75% premium animal ingredients
- 25% fresh fruits, vegetables and botanicals
- Grain-free & carbohydrate-limited
- Infused with marine-source DHA & EPA Omega-3 Fatty Acids to support peak skin and coat conditioning
- Veterinarian-selected botanicals help support metabolism, strengthen organs, and cleanse the body of toxins
- B12 supports gastrointestinal function
When we were ready to try it out, I was putting some food into the bowl to take a pic. I planned on crumbling it up a bit before giving it to her. But, Sallie obviously could smell it. She was jumping and going crazy! In the end, after I grabbed a quick pic, I just sat the bowl on the floor and let her have it the way it was. Just keep in mind that you would normally crumble it a bit.
Sallie made short work of digging in, as you can tell by the now half empty food bowl! She was chowing down! Obviously, it was passing her taste test! I was pleased that she liked it, because she can be so particular.
While not only is Orijen Freeze-Dried Dog Food a low glycemic, gluten free and grain-free dog food, it is also preservative free! I LOVED the ingredients list! It started off with meat, meat, and more meat followed by vegetables and fruits such as: beets, squash, carrots, pumpkin, apples, pears, etc. Point is, there were NO unpronounceable words! How often can you say that?!
Even though for the most part, the Orijen Dog food was for Sallie, I did give the rest of the pack a couple bites each to see if they liked it. It passed with more than flying colors! They all wolfed those bites down and was looking for more! I am glad to have found a food that Sallie can eat and enjoy. It is also a food that I can be assured is nutritious and good for her, without added fillers and preservatives!
If you are looking for a tasty grain-free, gluten free alternative dog food, look no more! Consider giving the Orijen Freeze-Dried Dog Food a try! There are several flavors to choose from and you can be assured coming from Orijen it is very high quality! It is a little on the pricey side, especially for a dog Sallie’s size. But, if it will solve her health issues and she likes it, I am all for it! I recommend it whole heartedly!

This sounds like a wonderful dog food. We have a Boxer pup and she seems to have a tummy ache quite often, wonder if this would help her.
