If there is one thing that upsets all us pups, it is loud noises. We don’t like it when the sky turns black and the thunder rolls in. Seriously, y’all! It sounds like it is fixin’ to crash down on top of us. And, them folks out there tryin’ to blow themselves up – what’s up with that? Them sounds are so scary! It may sound funny, but pet anxiety is no laughin’ matter WOOF! Thankfully, my Lady has some drug-free remedies that help soothe our fears and help us relax a bit. Have you heard of ThunderEase Calming Products from ThunderWorks?
ThunderEase has become our new best friend. Now, I ain’t gonna pretend I know how they work but my Lady can s’plain it.
Lemme fetch her to tell ya more!
Here’s what my Lady says about ThunderEase Calming Products
There are so many pets that suffer from anxiety!
Whether it be thunderstorms, fireworks, or simply staying at home alone.
Miss Molly and the pack knows first hand about the issue! With 8 dogs in the pack, 7 of them experience extreme anxiety with loud noises.
We also have two with extreme separation anxiety. I use to think “what in the world is going on” and “why are they so afraid”?
Nothing had ever harmed them, yet their reactions are VERY REAL AND EXTREME!
Well, come to fing out, pet anxiety is a common occurrence especially in dogs! Take a look at this study!
In a 2018 study ThunderWorks® study on pet anxiety they found:
- A 2018 study sponsored by ThunderWorks®, creators of the ThunderShirt®, found over 80 percent of cat- and dog-owning families have experienced anxiety-related behavior problems with their pet.
- As part of our study, ThunderWorks® found almost 50 percent of the dog-owning families surveyed had a dog that experiences loud noise (i.e., thunder and fireworks) and separation anxiety — the two most common types of anxiety.
- ThunderWorks® also found that cats most commonly experience loud noise anxiety or anxiety caused by another pet or person.
Miss Molly and the Pack’s First-Hand Experience with Anxiety
From first-hand experience, the triggers can seem unfounded but are no less real for our pets!
With our pack, we have one that tries to get into the oddest of places and make herself as small as possible.
Meanwhile, her sibling first begins to pace and if it goes on too long, he becomes destructive.
He will claw and chew at anything in his path, including furniture, etc.
Being very calm and laid back dogs, they never act this way when there are no triggers.
In the meantime, the other dogs will pace and pace and pace.
Then they begin to try and crawl into my lap or get as close as possible.
There is no denying the trembling and heavy panting. They are truly frightened!
How to help a Dog with Anxiety
The first step in helping your dog through an anxiety related event is to recognize the symptoms.
It is important for us pet parents to stay aware of the triggers that cause their stress.
For some it can be thunder or fireworks, for others, it can be strangers.
They may begin lip licking, yawning, wagging their tail in an out-of-ordinary way.
Or, they may be like my pups and begin to pace and follow your every step.
If we can learn to recognize the early signs of anxiety and treat the early symptoms it helps lessen the overall anxiety.
A couple of our go-to products are the ThunderEase Calming Diffuser and ThunderEase Calming Spray.
We have been using them for quite a while now.
Admittedly, we were asked to spread the word about them, but we had been using these products a long time before then.
So, it was only natural for us to say yes! Our fellow pet owners NEED to know of these products!
ThunderEase products are made by ThunderWorks. The same company that brought us the Thunder Shirt!
About ThunderWorks
Their mission is to help relieve the suffering of the millions of dogs and cats dealing with anxiety and fear issues. In doing so, we hope to strengthen the bonds between pets and their families, reduce the number of pets abandoned, and help shelters and rescue groups place dogs and cats in need of families.
ThunderEase is a safe and natural way to help soothe and alleviate your pet’s anxiety!
What is ThunderEase For Dogs
When new pups are born, their mother naturally emits pheromones that give the puppies a sense of security and comfort. These pheromones help dogs bond to each other and their mom. ThunderEase replicates these natural maternal pheromones for a drug-free, vet-recommended, calming solution that puts an end to destructive chewing and problem barking and other “not-so-fun” symptoms.
ThunderEase for Dogs Diffuser Kit
I love this little jewel! I am pretty sure you have heard of the benefits of aromatherapy.
Well, this works the same only it is especially for pets.
You never smell anything, but the benefits are there.
The diffuser releases what mimicks a mother’s natural nursing pheromones and helps your dog feel calm.
It has been tested and found to be over 90% effective for reducing anxiety and unwanted behavior and your dog will feel safer and less-stressed, TOTALLY DRUG-FREE!
To use, you simply plug in the ThunderEase Calming Diffuser in the room your dog uses the most.
We try and do this BEFORE a storm rolls in or in an event we know there will be loud noises.
ThunderEase Dog Calming Spray
As much as I love the diffuser, it only works at home.
My second most favorite ThunderEase product is the ThunderSpray.
It works in the same way. The spray mimics a mother’s natural pheromones and provides soothing fragrances of lavender and chamomile.
I love to spray the Calming Spray on a bandana about 15 mins before my pup actually needs it. It can also be sprayed on their bedding.
This allows the calming pheromones to be released continually to help keep them relaxed for a period of time.
My pups wear bandanas a lot so it is not something new and gives me plenty of room to spritz it on.
In addition to storms and other loud noises, the Calming Spray is great for car rides, trips to the vet, crating, pet and owner separation, reactivity to other animals or people, general fearfulness, and many other issues.
I love using both the ThunderEase Diffuser and the Calming Spray in combination when possible.
It helps to relax the pups. I am not saying it gets rid of all their fears, but I can see a definite improvement!
It calms the trembling and allows them to lay calmly without trying to hide in the closets or being destruction.
