Are y’all ready to kick off the #PAW5EnrichedLifeChallenge? Miss Molly and the pack have been sitting on ready! We are all super excited and ready to get going. A little birdie told us there would be fun dog puzzle feeders today! If you missed the opening announcement and explanation, be sure and go back to read the 6 categories of enrichment we will be covering this week. Alright everyone, let’s get this party started!
For today’s events, we have a menu of puzzle feeders, walking, a little doggie mood music, games of hide-n-seek, and a frozen goodie block.
We are doing a graphic menu for the day with simple, homemade ways to do them below.
WOO HOO! Get ready to see the excitement in your dog’s eyes and a happy swishing tail!
Check out the menu for Day 1 of the PAW5 Enriched Life Challenge!
Homemade Dog Puzzle Feeders & Games are Easy!
Food Container Puzzle Feeder
This is a great puzzle for dogs who don’t destroy and consume plastic.
Simply cut a few holes in various places in the plastic and fill it with kibble.
Many dogs just like to crunch plastic bottles and milk jugs too. Easy and recyclable!
You can make things a little tougher for them by placing paper towel rolls in the container.
If this puzzle doesn’t work for your dog for any reason, then take the kibble and place it in tiny piles around the room or house for your pup to hunt down.
If you would like to purchase a fun puzzle feeder bowl, we love the PAW5 Puzzle Feeder!
Miss Molly and the pack have a ball with these!
Peanut Butter Tennis Ball
This is a super easy treat to make for your dog that will cost you close to nothing (especially if you have an old tennis ball lying around).
Simply take the ball, cut a slit into it then remove a small triangle.
Fill the ball with peanut butter, and then let them work to get it out.
They’ll be at it for a while!
Hide and Seek
You can do this in a number of ways:
- 1. Bury toys or treats in a sandbox.
- 2. Place toys or treats in ladles and hang them from trees.
- 3. Place toys or treats in logs or other hiding places in yards.
Frozen Goodie Block
Take some kibble and their favorite toys then freeze them in some chicken broth.
Perfect for the warm summer days, but still just as enjoyable as we head into fall weather!

I love that they have these for dogs, I think it just helps the dog not only to stay alert but have fun. And what better way than to get a treat while learning and playing.
