What a great idea! My dogs love bananas and pumpkin, but I have never mixed them together. Theo loves his kong, and yesterday I used peanut butter, but this is a much better option.
Sadly, none of my dogs love bananas, but they do love green beans and pumpkin. Thanks for the ideas! I haven’t stuffed a Kong for any of our pups/foster pups in a while, as they all have to be kenneled separately for safety when eating. I love the pumpkin for extra fiber though!
Green beans is a great idea! I may try freezing some of those with the pumpkin next time they enjoy their Kongs!

I promise! It is lip smackin’ good!
That is simple and easy. Sampson will not eat banana unless it’s frozen. LOL I usually stuff their Kongs with some frozen pineapple chunks and then frost the end with pumpkin. It usually keeps them busy for 20 to 30 minutes. Sampson gets lazy though because if the pineapple is stuffed in there too hard, he’ll just stop. Of course either Hubby or I usually help him out. He has us so well trained!
Ha Ha! I think we are all trained! I never thought of using pineapple! I will have to see how the packs like it!
Bailie loves a good frozen kong. We have pumpkin and will have to try that. We usually use peanut butter, yogurt, honey, sometimes banana or other fruits, or wet food. Pumpkin is good stuff.
Oliver here, do dogs get hair balls? The humans say pumpkin is good for feline hair balls . Maybe canines and felines have more in common than I realized!
Oliver here. Do dogs get hair balls? The human says pumpkin is good for feline hair balls. Maybe we felines have more on common with canines than we realize!
Yes! Dogs can, and do, get hairballs. Although it isn’t as frequent as with cats, dogs that lick or chew at their fur a lot can get them. Allergies that cause itchy skin, fleas, etc can cause them to chew and lick excessively. Most of the time, they can pass the hair, but there are occasions the hair they swallow does cause hairballs. They may upchuck them, but sometimes they can cause blockages too.
Great idea my dog loves bananas, never tried pumpkin.
