Prepare for Winter Hiking and #TrailTime with #SierraTradingPost

Us pups love bein’ outside! We especially love when my Lady joins us for playtime or takes us on a hike! It has just turned Fall in our neck of the woods and we are enjoying the crisp cool air. We spend our days playin’ and enjoyin’ the falling leaves. We like to chase, and try to catch, the falling leaves. Another favorite past time is runnin’ through the big piles of leaves the humanz have raked up WOOF! While we are runnin’ and playin’, my Lady is shoppin’ for some things we need for our winter hiking trips at a place called Sierra Trading Post.

Sierra Trading Post must be a fun place, cause she has been ooin’ and aahin’ for a while. She says they have pawsome prices and lots of cute stuff. I sure hope I get a cute coat and maybe some new winter boots! I’ll be stylin’ on our winter hikes! Yep, she says they have stuff for us pups too WOOF! Lemme get her to take a shoppin’ break and tell ya ’bout em. You might like some new winter duds too!

Here’s my Lady to tell ya ’bout Winter Hiking Essentials from Sierra Trading Post

Having 7 dogs, with 6 of them being large-breed high-energy dogs, leaves no doubt that we need to get out and enjoy the outside. They need time to burn off energy and get the right amount of exercise in order to stay healthy. I, and the pups, love to hike the trails or trek through the woods around our house. It’s a great activity they love and allows them see new sights and smell new smells. However, as Fall turns into Winter, it requires preparing for winter hiking by doing a little shopping.  The Shepherds may already have a full heavy winter coat, but as humans, we need a little help to stay warm and enjoy our time outside.

Sierra Trading Post has been around for 30 years and carries a variety of winter essentials! They have cute, functional clothes at prices I can afford. In addition, 98% of all orders ship within one business day, meaning quick delivery!

Prepare for Winter Hiking and Trail Time with Sierra Trading Post

Maggie enjoying a Winter hike in the snow.

As I said, the Shepherds are already in full winter coat and would gladly stay all day in rain, sleet, or snow. However, I need the proper winter wear to be able to stay out in what they call “perfect weather”! On the other hand, I do not like big bulky clothing when trying to hike. When I hike, or even just roaming through the woods, I like waterproof and insulated clothing that is warm but not confining. Sierra Trading Post has exactly what I need for myself, the hubs, kids and for the pups – all at reasonable prices and with FREE SHIPPING on orders of $75 or more!

I found this insulated Orage Olivia Layering Hooded Jacket on Sierra Trading Post that is perfect! It repels light rain and snow, holds warmth, but is not so bulky as to get in my way when hiking! It also comes in 3 color choices. But, I didn’t stop there! I picked out several items on my shopping list!

•Light Weight Waterproof Jacket: I also wanted a lighter weight jacket. I found the waterproof Mountain Hardwear Plasmic Dry.Q® Evap Jacket. It is a perfect light jacket and great in case of rain!

•Hiking Boots! Of course, I couldn’t resist looking for boots! I can never have to many pairs of hiking boots and I couldn’t resist the cute waterproof Ahnu Sugarpine Hiking Boots!

waterproof Marmot Palisades Gore-Tex® Pants

•Waterproof Pants: In addition, I needed a waterproof pair of pants for the days of having to walk the dogs when raining. I fell in love with these waterproof Marmot Palisades Gore-Tex® Pants! They are super cute in a bright fun color!

Fantastic Winter Wear for Men

•Duck Bib Overalls: While I was shopping for myself, I also found several items for the hubs! While he may not spend as much time hiking with the dogs as I do, he is outside all the time. He wears his bib overalls for everything from working outside during the winter, to fishing and hunting. The quilt lined Carhartt Flame-Resistant Duck Bib Overalls are exactly what he likes!

•Waterproof, Insulated Boots: And, of course he needed a new pair of boots! I found the perfect pair in these waterproof and insulated Vasque Snowblime Snow Boots! They will keep his feet warm and dry during all his outside activities!

zip-neck Solid Sweatshirt

•Zip Neck Sweatshirts: Nice looking sweatshirts that he will like are hard to find. However, I found the perfect zip-neck Solid Sweatshirt. It comes in several colors and sizes. I have a feeling I will be back for more colors on this one!

•Winter Jacket: The hubs winter jacket has seen it’s better days and he needs a new one. I found this flannel-lined Carhartt Active Duck Jacket that I know he will love! I chose the Carhartt Brown color, but they also have 4 other colors available.

Preparing for Winter Hiking with Sierra Trading Post - Winter Essentials for Dogs

Sierra Trading Post carries Winter Hiking Wear for Dogs too!

Y’all know I just couldn’t resist doing a little shopping for the pups too! Sierra Trading Post has so many fun pet items! While most of my dogs are big shepherds and don’t like wearing clothes, poor Miss Molly doesn’t have as much hair as they do and she gets cold. Then, there is the little Chihuahua, which of course, needs winter protection from head to toe!

•Overcoats and Waterproof Jackets: I found several kinds of coats and jackets such as the Ruffwear K-9 Overcoat Dog Coat and the waterproof Hurrta Winter Dog Jacket! Both will be perfect for Miss Molly and Little Bit!

•Dog Packs: I thought Maggie would love the Outward Hound Quick-Release Dog Pack. She can help me carry supplies for our hiking trips!

Avalanche Thermal Dog Harness Vest

•Thermal Dog Harness Vest: The Avalanche Thermal Dog Harness Vest is perfect for Ozzy, Brandi, and Seager since I prefer them to be in a harness.

•Dog Boots and Accessories: And, of course, boots! Can y’all tell I love boots? The pups don’t wear them often, but again, Miss Molly and Little Bit are the ones that need the most protection from the cold and will get good use of them. Sierra Trading Post had a good supply of boots and accessories, including the Ruffwear Grip Trex Dog Boots, Ruffwear Bark’n Boot Liners, and alcott Explorer Adventure Dog Boots.
