Winter has been colder than usual for us down here in the South. With temps dippin' down into the single digits, us pups are spendin' more time layin' up in the house where it is warm. Grooming
Just because it is winter doesn't mean you can stop bathing and brushing.
Routine bathing should be continued or at the very least a dry shampoo and/or wipes.
In addition to their bathing routine, brushing at least 3 times a week is a necessity in keeping the dog hair under control!
A good brushing schedule is your number one defense against dog hair in your home!
Stop Mud and Dirt at the Door
Keep a towel at your door to wipe your dog down before entering the home. Towels are my lifesaver!
A wet towel helps in removing mud from the feet and belly.
A dry towel is great for drying them down and removing any snow or rain.
Door Mats are a Must!
The next line of defense is having a mat both on the outside and on the inside of your house.
It may seem over the top to have a doormat outside AND inside, but it gives you much more room to work with before they hit your floor and carpets with their muddy feet!
Floors and Carpets

With the odd weather of hot/cold, it seems like my dog is shedding more than usual this winter. I have a spray for brushing his hair, which I hear is better than dry brushing.
